Keep the camera running and you'll have no more issues. :D

It's a nice deterrent.

Yeah, the spirits will be made fun of by other spirits as n00bs if they get caught on camera.

Or maybe the spirts think cameras will steal their soul.

Well...if you're a soul and someone steels your soul...

I'm sick of this, I'm buying some critter traps so I can finally can these mothers. This website says Reese's Pieces works best for extra terestrials, so it must work for granma and Tupac.

Lul, let's face it, that would be classic.

Thing is, I'm the only one in the house with a computer...4 of them...but that number will be 21 tonight...I hoard >8

Welp, I suddenly feel better.

Since I've been pursuing this thing and actively trying to leave myself home alone and in the "high traffic" areas, there hasn't been one encounter. I just took a shower in the portal to hell, erm, bathroom that hasn't got power and felt NO presence. I honestly feel like my living place is back to the shining uplifting place it was.

However, Duder is still, for lack of a better word, paranoid of the dark figure and Panda apparently thinks something is out to "get her" after the shower incident. -.-' She only uses the other bathroom and sleeps with an iPod on.

Since the night that I recorded the living room without their knowledge or presence, they haven't reported anything, though they're still cautious.

I have not heard any inexplicable voices, footsteps or door prying so I can only assume the thieves got what they came for.

I may even sleep in my own bed rather than the couch for the first time in 3 nights :p

Although, I'm still going to film the balloons to try and debunk them. I can't explain the behavior with wind drafts but maybe through study I'll find another explanation. Maybe there IS a jet stream at ceiling-level in this house 0.o

Either way, I'll keep all events and happenings posted. I'm still P.O.'d that the feeling arrived while I was relaxing after a trip, yet when I start to believe something is here...it's gone?

My, the arguments that wouldn't exist with careful reading.

*sigh*

Well, it was great while it lasted, however last night things started stirring stuff up again.

At night, I was walking to my room, I was startled by what appears to be a cat that was completely black, a half meter tall, and its tale up in the air. I'm sorry, but I've never seen a big-cat with its tail in the air. I'm curious if they have the strength to even do so. I was walking down the hall, and in the dim-lit area between the office and my door, it crossed from the office doorway into my bedroom. Well, it apparently did so, but my door was shut.

I pretty much brushed it off because I'm used to seeing things walking around. I walked to my room and went to bed. Before doing so, I checked my email and MacRumors. The last thing I remember reading was simewich's reply in this thread, so I'll say I was awake up until about 12 or 1.

After reading this thread, I went to the Login Window on my mac to secure it and was about to turn the screen brightness down to go to sleep, finally. However, something caught my eye. In the nearest corner of my room, I witnessed a sparkling ball of light fly into a wall. Sort of like the iTunes visualizer with the dancing black orbs, except the ball was completely white with sparkling rainbow "sparks" orbiting it. Maybe I saw a giant atom 0.o LUL Either way, I know it wasn't light projected onto the wall, it was clearly in mid-air and then passed through the wall. As well, the only source of light in my room is either the dim dim moon light that penetrates the blinds, and my MacBook Pro which was at about 4-bars of brightness.

I can easily blow these things off, they're not uncommon, and I wish that ball of light would have stayed around a little longer, it was phenomenal, beautiful! I just want to hold it LUL.

I got to sleep pretty quick and had no problem staying asleep until about 7-8am.

Duder just came by the house and talked to me (she leaves at 8am, and left here again just under an hour ago). She says, apparently, she couldn't get any sleep last night "because of you". I asked what I did. I hadn't told her about the big-cat or the ball of light, I went straight to bed after those events. She says "I went to get a Coke last night (in the kitchen) and heard a footstep in the laundry room (just past the kitchen). I waited there but nothing happened so I got a drink and went back to my room. I sat with the cat and listened to [Panda]'s iPod in bed before I went to get one more drink and go to sleep. I went to get a drink and put the Coke up and walked to bed but I noticed that the door to the sunroom was open all the way." "I thought the cat was in there, so I just went to bed and the cat is dead asleep where I left her."

The sunroom is tied shut with a rope to keep the cat from knocking the door open and walking out into it, because it's not air-conditioned so it saves on heating.

"I went to your room, I opened your door and I woke you up and TOLD YOU to set a camera up fast. You woke up, sat there, and went to sleep. So thanks to you I couldn't sleep until about 5 because of the noises last night."

Not sure what I did wrong, but ok.

She described to me somebody was using the back of their hand to knock on 3 of the walls in her room. She says they came from within the room, not on the other side. The latter wouldn't sound the same because one wall is brick on the other side, and another is tile. She says there were 3 knocks. One on the farthest side of the room that is shared with the bathroom, and another on the wall that is shared with the exterior. She says the last one freaked her out so much that she couldn't sleep at all. Her bed is set in a corner against 2 walls. The wall that is against the length of the bed is where she heard a final "HARD" knock that woke the cat and made her put on Panda's iPod to hide the sound.

So, tonight we wait again. I'm really getting tired of this stuff dodging me, what is up with that? I could understand if she knew about the camera that I set up and then decided "well, I can't corroborate my story so I'll lay back for a bit" and then started up again when I stopped recording, but the problem is I also experienced first-hand such things. Now, I have never experience a big black figure creating the sounds of footsteps and opening a door, I have a feeling she exaggerates such things, but I do have experiences. I can't believe that, SOME how, I experienced something in the same night she did without one telling another at first.

As a note, it's funny, but I've never seen a "ghost" open a door. It's one of the most common things people talk about but it's just never happened to me :p

Anyway, I'm setting up a camera in Duder and Panda's room again because it seems to "follow" her and be most active in and around that room. It ain't over yet -.-'

Update: The way I was recording before is to use a DV cam to record straight to my Mac, as well as use an HD cam to record the same shot. This way I can just scrub through the DV footage (no importing necessary) and if I see something I can check it in HD. Here's where I need your opinion. Should I leave both camera's in Duder's room, or one in Duder's room and another in the living room pointed at the sunroom doors? Which should I leave where? It's up to you.

I've been on edge clutching my gun,

I am curious to why you're sitting around holding your gun if you think you're being plagued by spirits. Will you shoot the spirits? Do you believe they have physical forms and are actually living in your home?

I was startled by what appears to be a cat that was completely black, a half meter tall, and its tale up in the air. I'm sorry, but I've never seen a big-cat with its tail in the air. I'm curious if they have the strength to even do so.

Yes a cat can put its tail in the air... have you never seen a cat before?

I was convinced that the combination of the sounds of footsteps, talking and door-manipulating that somebody was attempting to break into my house. I wasn't sure if it was the same thing as whatever the others were saying or a REAL danger.

The sounds were just too convincingly real.

Physical forms? The only evidence of something moving is the sounds they make, pushing and pulling on doors, knocking on walls, flicking a light switch. So whatever it is most likely has some physical embodiment. Most of my first-hand experiences are just sites and sound, and only one physical encounter with the thing/things that leap on the bed.

You'll have a hard time forgetting once you've encountered a psychologist ghost. Afterward you'd need help from a ghost psychologist.

I thought this thread was interesting until it started drifting. But that got me thinking, and this is a serious question, have you been doing LSD or mushrooms? Not just recently but ever?

My roommate is convinced that there is some sort of presence in our apartment. Haven't noticed anything myself, but who's to say these things don't exist.

When people feel a presence it's MOST likely just the environment. An eery environment creates an eery feeling.

Try to eliminate all shadows and put curtains over all of the windows. If you turn out the light in a room shut the door as well. Get rid of "crevices". For instance, if the back of your couch is 1' from the wall, move it so that it is only a matter of inches. Also, try to keep walls from being bare. Just as much as a single picture can help.

Yeah...it sounds like Howard Hughes complaining about a pull-tab drink thats tab doesn't align with the label, but in some way it eliminates the feeling of somebody watching you. I still don't understand the phenomenon, but I believe the feeling probably has something to do with disturbances in the room's atmosphere. Changes in air pressure, electromagnetic fields and maybe even infrasound, who knows.

If that doesn't help, search the walls for pinholes. You know better than to trust the awkwardly friendly neighbor.

OP: from the minute i read this thread to this very minute the hairs have not re-seated themselves into my neck!

i am ABSOLUTELY freaked out by your story and everything you have said.

your story is just like "Paranormal activity". it SO freaks me out to think that there are other "beings". im freaked. and the fact that you are experiencing it just makes it all the bit more worse lol.

could something like paranormal activity even happen (girl gets possessed etc)? if so, im not moving in with my gf! hahahahaha

keep us updated OP, provide movies plux!

how are you not freaked out by this?

First off, please know that I say this with no anger or intent to attack you. You seem quick to jump to that conclusion whenever someone expresses doubt with your experiences. I'm sorry to say I do have some doubts but hear me out. I read your stories and they are proper scary but I think you may be encouraging/creating a lot it in your own mind.

On the topic of jumping to conclusions- I think that can be the start of this: gullibility by ones own active imagination. I often think that people who believe in spirits and the like may just be more susceptible to interpreting the imaginative and unexplainable into something paranormal/otherwordly. I think the same about people who believe that they are touched by god. It's taking something unexplainable and categorizing it. I myself am more content to say "I don't know" rather than label it as something else.

I thought of this when I was stoned off my ass one night alone in this old flat and thought I saw something quite freaky out of the corner of my eye. I totally jumped. Because I was stoned, alone, in the shower (vulnerable) and it was night time, I was more prone to paranoia. I had to actually tell myself to chill the frig out because there was nothing REALLY there.
I think it was a matter of my eyes not being focused in that direction and my imagination running with possibilities. I decided (and I think it is a decision) not to consent to that. Our minds are powerful. If we can convince ourselves to panic I think we can convince ourselves not to, even if it is the more difficult thing to do.

For what it's worth, I live in a weird flat which some in my shoes may describe as haunted. I hear countless noises every day, feel cold when I shouldn't, smell odd scents and see shadows in the corners of my sight rather frequently. These are all things many ghost hunter sorts speak of. I think if I were more gullible to my imagination I'd be scared crapless. I prefer to think there are logical explanations but I just don't know them. It's more sensible and it's much easier to get to sleep at night that way.

Just my take on it. I really don't know what to think but it sounds very unsettling.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again

SEEK URGENT PSYCHIATRIC HELP.

Clutching a gun in your hand? Are you out of your god damn mind?

The correlation between nothing happening, and you attempting to record it - is HIGHLY indicative of the genuine nature and genesis of everything you are experiencing.

For your own mental well being, I am BEGGING you, once again

This is not meant in any malicious way whatsoever, it is meant entirely with good will, good intentions and your own mental health in mind and nothing else.
