I am soo happy I got home today and check my order and it has been despatched for delivery to store Monday.
Also got the letter saying my account is going to be credited £20, same question as everyone else though.... what account??
I went into my local store showing them the letter and asking about the account. The guy said you have an account assigned to you because of the order.
He also said he weren't able to let me use the credit until the manager was there to authorize it. So make sure you bring the letter in too
Can you track your order online or do you have to ring the number on the cpw website? I got the letter yesterday and then a phone call from the shop saying the oredr has been picked and that it would be delivered to the shop Saturday (today) or Monday. Can't wait after the shambles of last Friday!
I just again checked my order status online, and it's still at stage 2 but showing:
"A problem occurred processing your order (e.g. wrong postcode, no payment). We will contact you as soon as possible.. Your order should have arrived on Mon, 14 Jul 2008."

Oh dear. That is exactly what I now have (and have had since yesterday morning). Not good, I'm afraid.
I was assured, on Wednesday evening, by the guy at CPW who has been dealing with my order (who has been as helpful as anybody could have been, under the circumstances) that my 16Gb black iPhone would be delivered yesterday (Friday 18th).
Having been in stage 2 with the "out of stock" message for several days, my status briefly changed to "being processed" (without saying out of stock), but then, late Thursday or early Friday, changed to this new message ("A problem occurred ...").
So my order is now stuck. All I have managed to find out is that there was an "IT error"eek: - I have enough of them at work!) prior to dispatch on Thursday. I am now waiting for the guy who took my order to be back in, to get it sorted. The other option is to cancel and place a new order, but I am reluctant to do that right now.
If you do happen to find how to get the order unstuck, I'd love to know!
Yes this is EXACTLY the same turn of events that I've experienced! Spoke to them this morning, they said my order was at the store ready for collection (but the guy sounded extremely confused). Phoned the store, they said "nope, not here" and that it would be next Friday (25th). He also added the order was "being processed". He also said CPW would pay my line rental up till when I get the phone. I'm going on holiday in a few days so I've just resigned myself to the fact I'm not going to have it and that I'm saving money on the line rental.
Same here - after the initial delay from 11th July to Monday 14th, then being promised it would be delivered on Friday 18th, of course it doesn't arrive and on visiting the store again they suggested it might arrive on Friday 25th.
I did ask about the £20 compensation and they confirmed that I would get this when I picked the phone up, but I will have to push for a free accessory as some other forum members have done (annoyingly I brought a case on the 11th July thinking it would arrive on Monday). I would have cancelled as other people have done on here, but I really want to keep my phone number.
The online tracking tip is great though (even though I ordered in store) - just a shame I'm only at stage 2!

Mine has now changed from "an error has occurred" back to the "out of stock" message. I spoke to the CPW guy who originally handled my order today; I think that this change in status was due to something he did. So if you are still getting the "error has occurred" message, it's probably worth calling them again to get the error condition removed.
My impression is that the error may have happened at the stage when the order was being picked for delivery (last Thursday), at which point their system got confused because although it "thought" there should have been stock, in fact there wasn't.
Sounds like Friday 25th may now be a possible delivery date - but I'm certainly not holding my breath!
Ok just checked my home phone and had a missed call from CPW this morning, just checked City Link's website and it is now saying it was delivered this morning about 11:30am, matches the time CPW called. So looks like my phone has been there all day
