My iPhone 4S has shipped!!

Mine arrived in alaska but my status on apple.com is still preparing for shipment. anyone whos ordering to CA at the next step yet? where do they ship it to afterwards? because shipping it to Louisville doesn't make any sense

For those of us who are still seeing a " preparing to be shipped" status, our iPhones may just be already in the US.. As in initially stocked by apple in the states. Obviously they won't send them out now most likely tomorrow or Wednesday but I'm sure the reason ours isn't being able to be tracked down is cause it's not coming from china or Japan's or somewhere outside the country. It's probably at one of the many dist. Centers that apple has and just waiting for the right moment.

I received my shipping confirmation from Apple at 6:26pm eastern today, about the same time my phone arrived in AK from Hong Kong. Could be coincidence, though.

I was thinking about this too. Are the people who have been tracking their phones today and yesterday mainly on the west coast or in the western half of the country? Maybe west coasters' phones are coming from china and east coaster's from distribution spots from within the US?

Yep, I'm in LA and UPS/FedEx doesn't work for me, and Apple still says "Preparing for shipment".

That borks my theory. Haha. I'm not worried about it. It still says delivers on the 14th so I'm happy.

What I want to know is how people had the UPS reps tell them the actual date is the 12th. Mine kept insisting it was the 14th. Ugh I'm so darn anxious.

Those reps are most likely wrong.

wooooo hoooo, just got the email from sprint. got tracking numbers for both iPhones ( black 32gb and white 32gb) took off work friday. now i have to track down the ups guy in my neighborhood.

I do not think it matters whatever the shipper states, Apple has notified it's shipping carriers not to deliver until Friday Oct 14th, so we may all have a variation of dates, but I am pretty sure Apple wants them to be delivered on 10-14 for all and only on this date, we will see though.

Mine shipped from China for delivery to NC.

I'm in San Diego, Apple.com says Shipped, and it should be arriving into Ontario, Ca at about 11pm tonight

Ordered 2 16gb iPhones 1 black 1 white off of ATT Premier i wish it would be more specific. Also didn't get anything with the trick. It better come on friday >.<

I agree with you because my 2 friends ordered late friday morning around 11-ish and they already received a conformation ship from apple i ordered at 530 am and the only reason was because of the whole system crash, I'm just hoping we are from the first batch that is in the apple US warehouses. BTW the whole ups tracking thing did not work for me.

Well that would suck to be the last ones to get it, in that case you best believe I'm going to complain about so called " first come first serve " technique they have going, I could have gone to sleep at a regular time last Friday then lol. Not cool ordering a phone at 4am EST ( due to apple's crash )

What do you mean by "main phone number"? So if it's a family plan, its the account holder's cell phone number?

yes. just try all of your family plan numbers. one of them should work.

I tried every single phone number in my house hold. Heck, I even tried my grandmother's phone number. Nothing on either FedEx or UPS.

The only phone number that will work is the one you used when you placed the order. Try your order confirmation number, too.

did you order from Apple or At&t? oh and did you use an account when you ordered or did you just do guest? cause i did guest for one of my phones and it doesn't work for tracking

Check your page again. It says 4 days till delivery i.e. FRIDAY.

That may be, but when I ordered my Macbook Air, it said the same thing. It came from China via Anchorage, & it was delivered to my door the day after it was scanned in Alaska and I'm on the East Coast.
