Mine arrived in Louieville, KY as of 1:58 am local time. Headed back to Oakland, CA after that.

Whoa! It went from China to Kentucky in 28 hours. Maybe we'll all get our iPhones earlier if Apple doesn't instruct UPS to hold onto the packages til Friday *crosses fingers*

Seems like the first batch of pre-orders went to Louisville, KY and now dispersing from there to their locations. Last year, the West coast were lucky and got it 1-2 days earlier. Maybe the people from the mid-west will get it early this year.

That's because UPS's world hub is in Louisville.
I'm kinda surprised they don't have more than one in a country as large as ours. (yes I know Russia, China & Canada are bigger than us)

Verizon Customer
I have not been able to get order status information from Verizon most of the day today. However, I did get it to work once, and I have a Fed Ex tracking number. My order status is blank. The Fed Ex tracking says the package was picked up in Memphis TN and arrived at Fed EX location in Memphis on Oct 9, then on 10th "shipment information sent to Fed Ex". Scheduled delivery for Oct 13, 7:30 p.m. My credit card has not been charged.
I am not at all sure whether this is the iPhone 4S or the accessories, but it is the order number given to me for the iPhone, wt = .5 kg, signature required.
The only way the reference tracking method described in this thread worked for me at Fed Ex was to put in the purchase order number.

If you can't be home to sign for the delivery you print out the pre-sign for delivery and place it on your front door and they'll leave the package

I pre sign for all my iPhones. I just print the form out & leave it on my door.
Mine too!!! I just checked and finally was able to find mine through UPS even though Apple.com still says preparing for shipment. And my credit card still hasn't been charged...
FWIW I could not find it when using the phone number linked to my apple account, I found it using my boyfriends phone number and his number is the one linked to the credit card. I also could not find it on ups if i entered the zip code, it only worked when i entered the destination country
Your card charges when it ships. So, it probably will charge when Apple changes the order status and sends you a shipment email.

Yes! Mine too! Couldn't get any tracking and it showed up on Apple.com all processed and out the door. Left Shenzhen this afternoon!
My card was charged the moment i pre-ordered...caught a little by surprise. Glad I had money in there
