I got the Black 64GB AT&T ordered through Apple, but from what I can tell it doesn't matter which phone (color/capacity) you ordered.

It just worked for me this morning, but didn't yesterday.
I just typed my phone number without dashes or anything else. United States was already selected but nothing else.

The phone number is the one linked to your Apple.com ID (NOT necessarily the AT&T phone number.) So it could be your home, parents, significant other, etc.

That's what I figured... I thought that they charged when the item shipped so I figured since it shipped I should have a charge on my CC. If I get it and they don't charge me then that's cool too. :)
 
It will be very interesting to see whether UPS will hold those shipments that arrived in Louisville today. I just saw that some iP4S's started delivering in Germany today - although getting them before Apple releases the new iTunes, iCloud, iPhoto officially, will not make for an overall good experience for the general public.

I'm already running iOS5 and the latest beta for iTunes and have already signed up and paid for iTunes Match. Just waiting for the iPhoto update so I can get Photo Stream up and running. It would be great if I could get the phone on Thursday given my schedule on Friday may be problematic for accepting the UPS delivery.

okay so ONE of my phones finally showed up. departed @ 3:45 pm 10/11 from Shenzhen. This one is shipping to my father in texas. damn it. mine still isn't showing up.

blah i'm getting kind of frustrated. I ordered 32GB ATT Black on Friday 9:30am and nothing yet. My brother and his wife ordered at 7:30am and now have tracking numbers finally. I realized that I changed the shipping address to my home address instead of my brothers to make sure it matched the billing address. I did it on Friday when I ordered it. I know its being obsessive but I just want to see that my iPhone is sitting on a plane flying away from China.

Same here (getting frustrated).
 
My brother and I ordered two phones on same account, same card, everything. However, only one of them has shipped, and one is still on "preparing for shipping". Does anyone have any insight as to why this might be?

According to Apple, some are shipping from the states, so they won't ship until today or tomorrow. She said that if we have a "preparing for shipment" status we should be fine.
