Could be going out later tonight or early tomorrow. Don't give up. My boyfriend's phone shipped out yesterday morning and is sitting in Anchorage and mine didn't ship out until 10 hours later.

I am thinking I will get it thursday. I live close to the Oakland hub (-10 miles) but I dont think they will be able to process it in time and load it on the truck for a delivery tomorrow(wednesday).
I will, of course, let everyone know if I get it early and i will post a pic with my username for proof.

Anyways I ordered at 64gb White iPhone AT&T from Apple on Friday around 4:30am central time through my iPhone app.
Apple's website and customer service have assured me I will get my iPhone on the 14th. She claims it is sitting in a warehouse waiting to be picked up. We shall see.

How do you know they won't go by truck rather than air now that they're in Louisville?
ups wont deliver it early it will just sit at the depot and wait till it needs to go out on friday. Even if it gets to your local hub it will just sit there.

Check the front page of MacRumors, people have already began receiving them and people have reported in the forums that UPS reps have said that Apple has given them no hold instructions.

Not true. They bulk ship them over from China, and then package them for individual shipment here. The ship notifications that people are getting now are for phones ordered from Apple, which are packaged for individual shipment in China. That's why they have tracking already, because they take longer in transit.
I don't get that impression at all?! If anything, a lot of us who ordered through a carrier just haven't had the joy of watching our phone go from Hong Kong around the world, through AK and such. Many of the carrier's phones were already in the US, so we have not seen much shipping information, as they haven't gone anywhere.
Don't be concerned...yet. I'm willing to bet it is because your phone is already in Louisville, and will be on the move in the next 24-36 hours.

People have reported on the forums that ATT reps have confirmed that they will be shipping out "pre-ordered devices" on Thursday Oct 13th. Not so sure about the other carriers though.
Two possibilities:
1. Your phone is in a pool that is already in the US and won't be sent out until tomorrow or Thursday.
2. Your phone is coming off the assembly line in China today, and will ship out tonight.
Okay a third:
3. Life hates you and they lost your order. But not likely.
