anxious

I am starting to have my doubts. I an in NYC and placed my order via the AT&T site at 4:16 am (EST). I have read a good portion of this thread and many people who have placed their orders well after mine have some sort of additional information. My order status has always been stuck at: In Progress - Pending Shipment. Originally the items were listed as back-ordered, but have since (a day or two) been moved to qty ordered. Has anyone ordered through the AT&T site and received package tracking information? If so, what time did you place your order.

My situation...

I ordered around 6am Eastern on day 1.
I ordered the 16GB Black 4S on Apple's website.

It's latest update was arriving at Louisville at 9:28am this morning (again Eastern time). UPS still has the scheduled delivery as being on Friday (I wouldn't expect this to change anyway). The next stop for it will be West Chester, Pennsylvania. The next (and final) stop after that is the actual delivery truck. Possibly Wednesday, if not Thursday is my guess for my 4S.

I also ordered mine from the AT&T site around the same time you have. Checked on the order for the first time today and is also "In Progress -Pending Shipment" I am also getting slightly worried.

i found the solution!!!!!!!!
so right now my tracking number from apple is at
Shenzhen, China 10/11/2011 11:40 P.M. Departure Scan
10/11/2011 6:27 P.M. Origin Scan
China 10/11/2011 9:10 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

BUT i hit "get status updates" and set it up to get up dates to my phone. less than a minute later i get a text
"UPS [link] IN TRANSIT LOUISVILLE, KY, US as of 10/11-2011 11:41 PM Txt STOP to Stop"

i'm soooo happy!!!

You are right about this, my online UPS tracking shows

Shenzhen, China 10/11/2011 11:40 P.M. Departure Scan
10/11/2011 5:51 P.M. Origin Scan
China 10/11/2011 9:10 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

But once i signed up for status updates, i immediately got one saying it is IN TRANSIT LOUISVILLE, KY, US as of 10/11-2011 11:41 PM. Looks like it skipped hong kong!

I use Newegg's tracker, seems to show the same info :p If you ordered anything off Newegg just grab their tracking link and update the tracking code with the new one.. if not, just use this:

http://www.newegg.com/Info/TrackOrder.aspx?TrackingNumber=

Add your tracking number at the end. Works mostly for Fedex and UPS, not sure what else...

Oh crap this works for me thanks , UPS website say is waiting for shipment and on the new egg website says to deliver tomorrow ? Man I can't wait :)

As long as I get it by Friday I'm happy

Awesome - using this it tells me it's in transit to Louisville, which the UPS site didn't tell me. :) Thanks guys

Actually, I think everyone's misreading what they're seeing through the "Request Status Updates" or the link provided from Newegg that someone posted. Notice when you look at that, the scan times which just say "arrival, departure, etc." don't show any detail, but do in fact coincide with UPS.com's scans done in China. The results you're seeing are showing its ultimate destination which is Louisville, but since it's still not on US soil, it won't show that it hasn't reached Hong Kong or Anchorage for that matter. It must go there first before it hits Louisville. Don't get your hopes up guys, it's not in Louisville yet. I hope this makes sense lol

You'll most likely see updates to your tracking in the morning showing it arrived/left Hong Kong for Anchorage.

ah at least I am not the only one who can't find anything on UPS or Fedex with my phone number and order number without the last 2 numbers.

Wish I could track my phone!!! I hope I get it friday...At least my building emails you when you have a package!

It hasn't look for an update in the morning. It hasn't even reached the US yet. I'm on the same flight, by the way.

AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint orders are likely to already be in the US awaiting shipment. The carriers ordered a certain number from Apple that would have shipped from China and be stored in warehouses state side until ready for delivery. Those of us who ordered from Apple directly can track our shipments from the origin. This may not be true in every case, but would make sense.

I'm on the same one, and as I said earlier, my guess is 61 seeing as how it is the first one to leave Hong Kong to Anchorage for October 12, 2011

AT&T doesn't ship individual packages from China like Apple does. They receive the bulk order here in the US, and then package them for individual shipment. You will probably get tracking tomorrow, or on Thursday if they are overnighting them.

Makes a lot of sense. Thanks, that makes me feel better.

Really? I ordered mine from Apple at 7 am..it still says preparing for shipment and I can't find my order in ups or fedex.

Still Hope with AT&T orders

So I signed into my AT&T account to check my status verses clicking on the link in my email. I noticed the statement that "Pre Ordered devices will be shipped on or around Thursday 13 Oct, 2011". I'm not sure why it didn't immediately bring up my order, maybe cause I made it at the store instead of online. Either way it still shows "Pending Shipment". However, the statement I saw gives me hope that I will see my phone this Friday instead of the 14-21 days that they orignally quoted.

Anyone else's phone on this plane? I was able to get the trick to work on UPS.com early this morning, but Apple still shows "Preparing for Shipment".

Mine. However, mine shows as shipped. Do you have an old page in your cache or something?

No, but I have used both my Phone Number and my Tracking Number as the reference, so I know it's my phone :D

Yours is en route to Oakland? Aw man. Mine isn't yet. It's been sitting in Kentucky since 1 something AM.

If you ordered from Apple, then its definitely coming via UPS. Two separate reps confirmed this when I called. Try your phone number associated to the account through Apple, as well as the cell number. Don't use any dashes. Also do what someone else recommended and use your Apple Order #, but leave off the last two numbers. Mine came up eventually using both, and my order still shows on apple as "Preparing for Shipment", even though it's sitting in China or Japan right now according to UPS.

I only have one phone number and it's my cell number. Tried that and the apple order # without the last 2 numbers and I'm not getting anything! I keep getting that "UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request etc"

I used the number associated with the account (usually under your address when you check your iphone status) and it worked.
