My iPhone 7 Plus has randomly shut off and turned back on around four times.

Happened briefly today whilst using :apple:music since setting up 9 days ago without the :apple: logo then reverts to home screen, did'nt really think anything of it

Happening to me today too. Just came on here to see if I could read if others are seeing it too. 10.0.2

This is happening to me and my wife's phone as well. It happens randomly and its annoying us! I hope they fix this real soon with another update or something.

I've had this same behaviour with 7+. It definitely seems like a normal springboard crash and usually happens with camera app. I'm pretty certain that this is quite widespread issue and Apple will fix it quickly.

This used to occur to me on my iPhone 6. It wasn't a hard reboot though, since you are always prompted to input your passcode after you turn your iPhone on and off. Yet when the phone would reboot after the crash, I wasn't prompted to input my passcode.

Has not happened on my iPhone 7 plus yet though.

Glad someone asked this. It's constantly happening to my iPhone 7 plus! Camera app and snapchat. I'm glad it's not just me but I'm also annoyed it's happening and won't get a fix for it for a while :(

Update: My iPhone has crashed a few times since I went back to factory settings/current iOS versions. I have an apple store appointment today, is it worth going to?

I would not tolerate my new 7+ rebooting all the time. Yep, I would be at the Apple Store. Only problem I have had are the buttons freezing and having to reboot to recover. I think iOS10 still needs some work.

Same issue happening to me. 7 Plus 128gb. Spinning icon and then a soft reset/respring back to me having to enter my passcode. Not running beta and on the latest iOS release.

Some of my apps are also crashing more frequently than normal and refreshing after multitasking more than they did on my 6s+ so there seems to be something different about how memory is being managed on this phone (even given the extra 1GB of RAM).

It's seriously just a software issue and that's probably what they will tell if when you go. Like I said. Mine's done
it a few times- going into the app switcher after closing an app caused it to reboot... going to my messages app has caused a reboot. My phone works just fine and I don't experience daily "crashes". Once a day ... every couple of days it happens. Nothing out of the ordinary. The stigma that it's a hardware issue is really not true. You would know if it was.

A hardware issue can be defined as it would reboot and you'd see a color flash (either blue/red) and then it'd turn on like normal. Or apple logo repeatedly flashing. I used to work at AppleCare and have seen all variations of hardware issues. This isn't one of them but I agree the reboots are definitely annoying but don't happen at the frequency you see them. It can be a rogue app causing it. Have you considered a fresh install without daily apps installed?

You might want to check if you aren't accidentally power off/rebooting your phone.

Guess what - the key sequence for this on an iPhone 7 is no longer Power/Wait+Action button, as it has been for all prior generations.

For iPhone 7, it is now Power/Wait + Volume Down!!!

Since these are on opposite sides of the phone, it is relatively easy for them both to be pressed simultaneously, by hand, by your belt case, and yes, possibly even in that neat spot for storing your phone in your car as shown in the photo above...

Happens to me routinely - need to find a new belt case that doesn't squeeze so tight, I guess....

So a year or two ago I had actual hardware reboots - when the apple logo shows up and all. It was definitely a different issue than what I and you are experiencing now. This is something that will be fixed on an upcoming software patch - it always is.

Its happened to my wife's a few times. We're both on the same 10.0.2 and mine hasn't had the issue. Could it be apps compatibility?
