Is this the same policy for Apple?

Neither Apple nor ATT guarantee it on the 24th, but you should be able to get it from them both on that day with an early pre order.
 
i got mine reservation in for the apple store. anyone get an email conformation yet? this process was a nightmare thus far

I was also able to add a line from the att store. that was much easier and went smoothly.
 
Got through a half hour ago for a 16GB black. I still wonder why the delay on white with no warning. I feel sorry for the customer service people who are going to take a lot of angry calls.

Just reserved a 32g for pickup in Apple Store on the 24th. I'd hoped to avoid the melee, but won't spend more than 2 hours trying (intermittently) to get home delivery.:rolleyes::eek::apple:
 
32GB ready for in store pick up at 7:00 am. :D Was hoping for the white though. Hopefully they will let you exchange the black for white (doubt it) or maybe even have some available in store on the 24th.

I didn't go thru Premier.
 
Got my 32GB Black one reserved when I got into work today. Went through Apple and seemed to sneak into a small window where it worked without a hitch. Took a bit to get my email but it's all confirmed. Now the waiting game begins.
 
This is crazy. Trying to call Apple and I get one of the following.

1. Call cannot be completed as dialed.
2. Phone rings and says due to high call volume we cannot answer your call at this time.
3. Phone rings and cuts off.
4. Busy signal.
5. Apple picks up and I begin the process. Hitting "1" to order product and it doesn't recognize it. Keep hitting "1" and finally cuts off.

6.. and finally.. Im on hold for a rep. YES! :apple:
 
Reserved mine like 15 minutes ago through Apple.com and just received the e-mail.
 
32G ordered through Premier. Confirmation received immediately. Very easy process. It will be much harder having to wait the 9 days. But it could be worse. Hurry up next week.
 
Pre-ordered 2 32 GB iPhone 4's on my dad and my own line! This was at 4:30am and I didn't complete both orders until 5:30am. Very frustrating process but what can I say... Most of the world was probably ordering at the same time.

iPhone 4 Pre-Order = Success! for me :D
 
I started at 4am. Finally got thru at 5:30am. Got email 5 min later. What a pain in the A$$.
 
ATT: Ordered, got confirmation number, got email

But nothing on the order status page yet. They DID say it could take a few hours to a day - but w/ all the snafu I just want to see it anyway.

I got the same message on my receipt from Premier. Don't let the different word usage scare you. I remember last year I ordered through Premier and they had similar wording that said they wouldn't ship until the release day and even my tracking number showed it wouldn't show up until Saturday, but sure enough it arrived just on time on release date like it was supposed to.
 
Started @ 5am this morning and it took me 40 minutes to order two phones under one account on Apple. I kept at it until it took. It was frustrating to get almost done only to be bumped back to the starting screen!

My reservation(s) were successful with two confirmation emails from Apple.
