"My pre-order is done" Thread

Woke up around 4am CST, opened up my iPad headed for MacRumors to see if pre-orders had taken place...YES! Apple.com pre-order for pickup in store 32g black, received an email shortly after confirming order:D. Needed to pre-order a second phone, used a different email address, pickup in store 16g black email arrived confirming. Is it the 24th yet...

FINALLY

Just finished purchase through AT&T

1 hour from 3-4 am
1 hour from 6:30-7:30 am
3 hours from 8:30-11:30 am

5 total hours of trying finally paid off... CRAZY!
 
I did it as an upgrade. Selected my store. Seems like it went through, but it never asked for my email address and the confirmation page looks sorta barren. No email yet. Not sure if it actually went through.

After several hours of messing with the Apple store (and having my order remain in the cart), finally got it processed around 9:00 Eastern time.

Would be interesting to hear what sorts of computing power they had to throw at this load to handle it!
 
Tried allot of times through att and apple. Got tired of it so I drove to Best Buy and did it that way. In and out in less than 5 minuets. They will call me on the 23rd to schedule an appointment to pick up my iPhone. 32GB Black.
 
anyone able to preorder 2 iphones for instore pickup under a family plan? apple site only let me preorder 1, and then had a FAQ saying to see the store for help getting more. i'm not sure if that means they are going to walk me thru ordering the 2nd one, or will pull a 2nd one out of the back room and let me buy it on the spot.

also, anyone notice the apple site doesnt show the lower priced 550 minute family plan that AT&T's site has? apple only lets your get the 700 mintue family plan. is that something i can change at the apple store or just call up ATT to change once i get the iphones?

I got to this stage, too, with the same scenario, never asked for email address or my CC info or anything. I'm assuming that I don't have one ordered, then.
 
fed up with apple site, and ordered from att site after multiple time-out and stuff; got confirmation email a couple of minutes ago

not sure how att is taking care of it thou... my billing address is different from my credit card billing address, hope it doesnt matter
 
I went to Best Buy after almost 8 hours of trying via Apple and AT&T. Put my $50 down on the 16gb black and was told I will have it on the 24th as they have had very very few pre-orders. Nice to have some peace of mind right now. Had my order eventually gone through now via Apple's site I would be skeptical to see if it would actually come on the 24th.
 
Stopped at ATT store and put my name on a list and left. Came back an hour later and I was next in line. Pre-ordered 32GB and they said I could pick it up in store on the 24th. Total time spent was less than 30 min. Couldn't have been easier.
 
At this point, about 4 hours after ordering, the money has come out of my account. Apple shows my order status is good to go for the 24th. I still have not gotten a confirmation e-mail from Apple, but that seems to be the norm today.

A rocky start this morning, but all in all I'd have to say it seems like things are clearing up as the day goes on.

I ordered a bumper as well and that has a different shipping date... not too worried about that but I did think it was a little weird.
 
So on my order details, it reads the following:

Rate Plan:
No Voice Plan
Unlimited ......... $30.00
- Unlimited
Pay Per Use ......... $0.00
- Pay Per Use
Custom configuration
With AT&T Rate Plan

How does yours read? Is mine normal?

It's odd it says no voice plan but does list the data plan. And my plan did come up when I adding the phone to the cart.

I'm an exisiting customer, so is that why it reads Custom configuration? A little help?
 
What a joke this is. Apples site is snappy until it needs AT&T. When is Apple going to put the fire under AT&T to get their $%&^ together. :mad:

Mine said something like that. I think it's all good.
 
After trying for 6 hours, at 1:34 PM EST I finally managed to get one pre-ordered. That wasn't very fun. :( Getting it shipped to me.
 
I ordered mine at 6:30am east coast time on the ATT website. Still no confirmation email, but i checked the order status and it said it was processing. Any idea if I will actually get it on the 24th?
 
Woke up at 4am EST, and spent 3 hours trying to order on Apple.com. Was able to get a 32GB Black into my cart, but the site wouldn't let me check out. Finally sometime around 7:30am, when the site came back up for a 3rd time, the phone was still in the cart - it let me check out, and got a confirmation from Apple 5 minutes later!
