too small? That watch looks massive on your wrists. Almost comical. I thought for a second that you strapped a nano on your arm.

I have 18cm wrist and getting 38mm. And I'm generally a big watch guy (own Panerai). Just looks too much like wearing an iPhone on your hand.

Wait I thought the minimum was 150mm for the 42mm. That's what it says in the sizing guide. If you're right I'm thrilled, and making a last minute change to my preorder plans!

well stanta claus is home early :p Capture.PNG 140 to 210

Haha! I too was just at Doncaster. I have now downgraded my choice to sports watch as I felt there wasn't a lot in the overall finish. We played with the modern band with the aluminum and it looked ok with the exception of the SS buckle standing out against the aluminum (but as they are not against each other, it's no biggy). I agree that the 38mm is small on, however the 42mm looks a bit too big on me (I have 145mm wrists). Was great to have a play, couldn't beleive I just walked in and got to try straight away!

I'm right around 155mm as well, and I'm going for the 38mm. Based on paper cutouts, 42 is just too big for my tastes.

My wife is at 130mm, - perhaps a tad under. I really hope that 1.) the 38mm isn't too big, and 2.) that the Milanese band is small enough!

Like I have said in my original post. It's hard to gauge the size of it by looking at the photos. Try it out in store for yourself and see what you think.

What will look comical is you wearing what looks like your girlfriend's watch.

Is the photo you've attached a 42mm?

The photo of the watch on your wrist is the best advertisement I've yet seen for the watch. Something about seeing it in a non-professional real world setting totally sold me (not that I was on the fence--this just made it even more clear that I'm getting it on day one).

Thanks so much!

The band's not attached properly there.

I was just at the Doncaster store in Melbourne and got to try one a few apple watches.

Here are some things you might want to know if you won't get a chance to try one on before you purchase:

Size:

The 38mm is VERY SMALL. Now I myself have a very small wrist so I decided to try on the 38 first and while its a nice size, i feel that it looks like it was made for a woman's wrist than a male's.
The 42mm is just perfect. I don't know what it is about seeing it online but they seem huge in photos. It's definitely not as big as it looks on some sites.

Bands:

I was torn between the Milanese loop and SS Link bracelet. Both of these look just AMAZING in person. The deciding factor for me is the price and comfort of these bands. The Milanese loop is the most comfortable watchband i have ever worn. Someone should make underwear out of this stuff ;) It just fits perfectly around your wrist no matter the shape or size and it looks classy as hell.
In a perfect world, i would own both but $1049 versus $1479 is a no brainer for me.

Quality:

I cannot stress how good the quality of this watch feels, from the sports model to the stainless steel. It just feels like you are wearing a watch. Not a smartwatch. Even the weight of the stainless steel feels like my breightling. I didn't even bother asking to see the Edition watch for obvious reasons but it did look pretty nice. Not $14000 nice. But nice.

So for me it's the 42mm stainless with the milanese loop (Even with my girly wrists :D)

For those who have been asking: My wrist is around 175mm in circumference and around 65mm from the top of my wrist to the bottom ( where the watch actually sits).

lol not trying to be mean but damn that watch on your hand actually scared me , thinking that watch is too small for his hands then i saw that your hands on right side of the pic.. and wrist in on left

Here are some more photos i took while i was there. Sorry about the quality. There are so many lights above the watches!

Yeah.. I saw from one video you can just fit it anyway you wanted. Fit, fitter or less fit.

I've been saying for months now that the watch is one of the first apple products that looks worse in the promo pictures than in hands on pictures. I hope it holds true in person :D. It really does look stunning on a wrist in every day use.

Hey Cali, my wrist is about 175mm in circumference and around 65mm across where the watch actually sits.

And yes the pic with the watch on my wrist is the 42mm black ss :)

That's not a small wrist. I'd say in the middle, and if the 42 looks that good on you, then it will most likely look too big on me.

It seems like some people are under the impression that the picture of the OP wearing it is the one he said looked too small. I am pretty sure he didn't share a picture of the 38mm which is what he said felt too small so not sure why people are claiming it looks huge.

Also my wrists are only a little smaller than yours so I am now very confident about pre ordering my 42mm SS tonight. Thanks!

I agree, looking at these photos and the photos on instagram, I absolutely cannot wait to wear the watch on my wrist.
