Looks nice! Have the buttons gotten easier to press? And if so, how long did it take for them to break in?

they have more since I first got it. though when I did first get it, I made them a little easier to press on my own. I used the butt end of a letter opener (plastic, round edge) I have at work and simply pushed them in and out a bit to soften it. they're really responsive now.

Thanks for the reply. That a great idea, I'm going to try that out. Did you do it with the case off then?

yes. push them back and fourth with your finger on the inside and whatever you want to use on the outside. preferably something small enough to only push the button and nothing else. the butt end of a kitchen utensil will work also.

For me the power button is soft after just 2 weeks of regular use.

I'm trying to get the top of the case to form a patina which is a tough task considering I don't hold the phone upside down a lot. How did you manage to get it so disperse? Did you rub it over your face a lot? :p kidding

HA! I guess from landscape mode and watching youtube videos? it's actually a little lighter than the rest but I guess the pictures make them look a little darker?

Trying to resist...

Those of you had previous generations of the leather..

How'd the exposed bottom of your phone hold up?

How'd the leather hold up after a while? Does it get slick like cheap 'pleather' stuff after a while or maintain the soft leather feel?

I had the black leather case before since January 2015. I love that case. It was nice and grippy. The buttons were soft and imperfections easily rubbed out. It never got slippy, just softer and even nicer feeling.

The cut out bottom was never a problem for me. I have dropped it a handful of times on carpet and once on rough cement. The cement hit the bottom corners and scuffed the case pretty deep, but no damage to the bottom of the phone itself. The deep scuffs on the case actually rubbed out decently and weren't even noticeable much after awhile for me to even care. I think that if you drop it, the chances are more going to be corner damage to the case. The corners of the case wrap around the bottom and protrude out enough to where it won't be an issue with minor falls on most surfaces.

Its a love hate relationship for me and this case

I love the way it looks and the way it repels water

I totally hate the way it feels, my phone is slippery and feels like fake leather to me

Its a never ending story with apple cases... Last year's cases had awful durability issues but felt great in the hand

Picked up one today and not sure about it. Love the color but as mentioned it is slippery as hell. Also, not color specific, this thing fits extremely tight.

I've had mine for 3 days now, and it starts to get softer and more grippy. It does fit tight, and I see where the bottom edges seem to bow outward slightly as mentioned by previous posters.

not sure if it's the case but maybe the bow out is due to it being easier to be removed? I still don't see that as an issue for me.

I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus. Which is supposed to be a tad thinner than the S series. It doesn't bother me at all but it might bother some who are more OCD about it fitting perfectly.

Something I noticed about the leather cases for the 6S: they bulge out slightly on the bottom, on both sides.

Thought I had a defective one. Nope, got my original replaced, same issue, tried several of the display models, in several stores, same issue. Terrible qc'ing by Apple here. I will say the rubber cases fit like a glove, but I'm not a fan of the feel.

a user posted the godosmith ice max does which is the one I ordered.

Thanks!

A few photos of my two week old saddle brown with a nice patina developing. I used kiwi waterproofer and no conditioner. Very grippy now and the buttons are very response. Couldn't be happier!!

Just curious, what is the purpose of the water proofer? Keep it from drying/ cracking? Also, did the buttons just become responsive over time?
Word of caution with the water proofer- might repel more oils and this slow the patina process (what I found with my case) I would just use it raw dog and enjoy it:)

Yes does become very responsive- doesn't even take 2 weeks imo

It's normal on these cases. I see to believe it was on purpose to make the case easier to be removed. non issue for me.

I need to get the kiwi waterproof now that mine has patina quite a bit.

Mainly to propel water (not a fan of bubble streaks on leather). I found that it helps with cleaning up spit specks of dirt. I can also just scrub small scratches off quite easily.

The buttons get responsive in less than a week.

Anyone tried Obenauf's on this thing?
Yes. I put a few daily coats of their leather preservative on mine while it was still new until it was well saturated. The case takes to it very well. A big improvement over last year's black leather.
