No, THIS guy's data usage is monster.
Not while on 4G. I never have been throttled on 4G.Verizon throttles unlimited users after 5Gig ... Do a search....

quick question, how do you check how much data you have used so far on your iphone 5.
See, that's the problem. The argument that people would suffer more usage because it's faster doesn't hold any water for some people. I have not streamed ANYTHING and my usual checking of twitter/email/facebook has increased my data usage exponentially. I've gone over my 200mb limit TWICE, when I never have EVER gone over my data plan in the last month. SOMETHING is seriously wrong here.
BTW, ATT LTE, so this isn't something just for VZ
Lol your statement totally made no sense.
First you say; The argument that people would suffer more usage because it's faster doesn't hold any water for some people. Sounding like you are saying this isnt about using more data to do the same tasks as before because its a faster data stream.
Then you say;I have not streamed ANYTHING and my usual checking of twitter/email/facebook has increased my data usage exponentially.
LOL, Yes thats exactly what everyone is saying, with LTE you will use more data to do the same tasks, thats just how it works.
To rebut your coming argument; it is impossible to set up the same parameters of your old 3g connection on an LTE connection, so yes, theoretically you are correct, but as everything is different in the real world it doesn't work like that due to many factors.....
No, you misinterpreted it. The argument goes that because LTE is so much faster, that people will want to use the device more and not realize that they're sapping more data.
Regardless of LTE's speed, loading a 50kb page is 50kb. There is no reason that loading the same page on LTE, 3G, or Edge would render more data usage. That's my point by suggest that my actual practice of using data has not changed. It wouldn't make sense that my same practices, e.g. twitter, facebook, email, would render me using more data.
There's another issue here and something else is sapping data.
Settings > General > Usage > Cellular Usagequick question, how do you check how much data you have used so far on your iphone 5.
but you can not say that, yes on paper thats true, but as you stated under the lte plan your pages will load faster. So even though you think, (I am doing the same thing) you are not, also depending on the pages you are loading you may get more content.
Yes in laboratory conditions timing each click the same you will see very little to no increase....
But you dont live in a lab do you?
No, of course I don't live in a lab. However, if you can somehow guess as to how people are sending data packets of 80+ mb by using services, such as twitter and facebook, within a span of 5-10 mins, then I am all ears. The point is HOW fast people are using data in a short time. Sure, let's assume that the one doesn't realize how much more they are surfing, but to suggest that I used 131mb during a 30minute lunch where I checked my phone twice is somehow attributed to "real world conditions" is utterly asinine. You have to realize that.
This isn't merely someone's data use increasing, but it's about how fast the dat use is increasing, without using draining services like youtube or pandora. THAT is the alarming issue. Whether it's iCloud trying to update via data or if it's something else, we don't know.
I have had an iPhone on AT&T since launch. I never went over a gig in any month. I have used half a gig in 2 days with Verizon!! Worse, it uses LTE while I am at home with a rock solid wifi connection. If I turn cellular off altogether I can still see, for example, a YouTube video. But if I leave it on, while still connected with wifi, it sucks data like a vampire. W t f????
And, all day, it leaks data even with no apps running!
