It looks like Apple's added some Babya Logic style features in Soundtrack Pro 2.

Such as a spectrum frequency view-obviously Apple has copied Babya Logic 2's Logic Spectrum Viewer.

Apple's:

Ours:

Seems like they don't want MS copying their ideas-but they have copied some of my Babya software features.

Come on get over this one. My Amiga had this spectrum analyser view in a MOD player, back in 1991 or 1992.

It's a standard way of visualising the audio. There is only so many things you can do with it, and have it be useful.

No. It supports HD-DVD if you have a HD-DVD Writer inside or out. But not Blu-ray®.

Does it? Sorry for my ignorance, but I am rather interested. Do you have any links about people explaining the process or something? I would be rather excited if I could burn an HD DVD that will play on all HD DVD players.

very disappointed

Is it just me? I have been waiting for months for this event to finally see some new HW like iMac, Mac Mini, new screens, etc. Based on the rumor sides I really expected announcements, like last year. I cannot wait anymore on new HW, so probably have to buy second hand Mac Mini to use till the HW finally comes. Disappointed.

Nab Started Friday the 13th And Runs Through Thursday the 19th

It starts tomorrow Antonwalker. We'll have more cool stuff coming. Maybe not from Apple but lots of other companies like Adobe, Avid, Red Giant and more. Red the hottest camera for Indies on the planet as a booth next to Apple.

Stay tuned...we're just getting started.
The Conference started Friday and runs through Thursday. The Expo starts tomorrow and runs through Thursday.

Glad I'm not you mate....you're gonna get slaughtered for posting that here. I suggest anyone else who is going to pipe up about consumer hardware keep a low profile....

May-June Has Always Been When The Next Macs Were Coming Out Except Dual Clovertown MP

If you'd pay attention to Intel's roadmap you would already know nothing new can appear until sometime in May and more likely June.

Very worthwhile FCS 2 upgrade. $499 from FCS1 and $699 from any version of FCP all the way back to the beginning so no penalty for doing the FCP to FCS upgrade for $199 and everyone who missed it can now jump to FCS2 for only $699 which is really great for all who missed the $199 deal during this past year which did not include FCP 1, 2 & 3.

Only Academic 4 owners who didn't upgrade to FCS1 lost this time as they can only buy FCS2 for $699 academic and not get commercial FCS2 for $499 like those who did.
So i'm confused on pricing. I have currently Final Cut Stuio Accademic. I can upgrade for $499 or do I have to purchase the new version for $699. If I can not upgrade and i buy the FCS2 for $699, how much do you think i can sell my version for?

I have to decide if I should get CS3 or update FCS...ummm any ideas?

WTF do people not get about NAB? It's a pro event. Why would there be new mac minis or iMacs at a pro event? Why?

Why?

Please explain, because I for whatever reason do not know why there would be consumer launches at professional events. Maybe I'm just confused. Maybe consumer really does equal professional. Someone please enlighten me.

...

Hey why wasn't there a GUI change? Will that come with Leopard? I mean, the main gray window didn't seem to change. I'm not a FC user by any means, but it seems ugly in my limited screenshot world.

Sorry chum, I would say you got swept up in bad rumors. Many of us had no doubts that this would be an announcement regarding Final Cut Studio. If there are going to be mac updates I doubt they will have a huge media event for them. It will be a quiet update.

My god this is awesome. Finally they introduced 3D into Motion, that was the only real thing keeping me with After Effects. Now if I can get all the Trapcode plugins (i.e. Shine, Starglow, 3D Stroke). I am definitely going to upgrade. Although since this is Apple's first implementation of 3D Cameras, lights, etc. I might still get the new After Effects as a backup.

There has been 3D in Motion for awhile. I know that Motion 2 had it. And it's so easy to use. I'm actually going to start transferring some of my Flash projects over to Motion, where things are so much easier and it has real 3D.

Old Academic Owners Missed Many Boats To Go Commercial For A Song

I geuss I'll be using FCS 1 Academic for quite awhile. Could be worse, it still rocks.
You had ton of opportunities to go from Academic 1 to 2, 3 or 4 Commercial for $50 to $150 back in the day. Why didn't you exercise one of those many opportunities when Apple presented them?

The last opportunity to go from Academic 4 or any PPC part of Production Studio to FCS 5.1 UB was $199 for a YEAR. You couldn't put it together in a YEAR? Face it, you didn't want to know how to upgrade for these past 8 years and now you can't. This was the end of Academic to Commercial upgrades March 20, 2007.

Thanks to Multimedia and A is jump, helpful as I am a relative new Mac fan. Also maybe selfish from me to post my remark of disappointment because the pros must be really exited about this announcement. My apologies and my time as consumer will come, have fun!
