I spent 4 dollars on my slim gel case I got from Monoprice.com. It adds almost no bulk to the phone but it's saved it from a few drops without any damage to the phone. Of course I would always prefer to have nothing since the phone is absolutely gorgeous, but $4 is a good investment to protect $700 dollar phone. :p That and I sell mine every year to upgrade and offset the cost of a new phone, and people seem to prefer a phone that isn't covered in wear and tear.

Can the 5s screen be replaced?
I know apple swap the phone for AppleCare + claims but can the screen be replaced?

Naked

Naked all the way brother...I hate the bulk cases add, and this phone is just too damn sexy to cover up ;)

My only exception is when going to the pool/beach, I use a waterproof case in those situations.

I was going to go naked (and I did), but I noticed that there was small striations forming on the metal band from pulling the phone in and out of my pocket.

This is definitely the issue I've noticed, but mine are so small that you can't even see them.

I CAN NOT stand a case on my phone. I may just get a bumper.

I'm still on 4s for now. I've learned my lesson on cases. Whatever you do, don't use an Otterbox Defender case. It scratched the hell out of my phone. Both on the aluminum sides in certain spots, and on the screen. I would never use another Otterbox.

Agreed. If you need max protection, get Life-Proof.

Put an impact resistant piece of glass and a Polyurethane skin on it. It's what I do. It's not max protection but I'm the same way, I cannot have a phone that I can't get in and out of my pocket.

Naked

Going Naked here with 64Gb gold Verizon 5S, always have. I try not to put it in the same pocket as my keys but usually don't succeed

I use all my apple products including the iphone and ipad naked all the time. How could you miss the smoothiness of the aluminum backings and the wonderful design itself? Hmmmm

Yes that looks nice. That's what I'm going to do today. I hate cases even small ones. I also don't see how anyone could use an otterbox

naked

I think the naked thing really has legs and we will be seeing it a lot more frequently versus otter and life proof (which in all honesty I think serve a purpose and are really good cases). Things are changing screen protection wise with impact resistant glass. Heck you can now get PET (I know I know) screen protection with real impact protection. But I completely understand the applecare argument...I mean a glass screen protector isn't cheap.

So true it's sad. Most people don't think to take the phone out once and a while to clean it. Dust dirt just sits there and rubs against the phone scratching it. I work for a company that does phone trade ins and I can't tell you how many customers are like it's in mint condition never taken out of the otterbox, only to take it out and see it scratched up. Then to have to tell them the value of the phone has gone down. Oh and have them get mad and try to argue with my manager. What can I say

Wow. I had no idea. That seems like something Otter will want to fix.

Yeah I don't know if there is anything they could do I see that same thing happen with other cases too. I think people just need to be educated a bit more. I take my phone out of my case now and again to clean it and once and while run it naked. But mostly have the phone in a case. I am afraid of dropping the phone.

Honestly, it sounds like a lot of people on this thread haven't tried existing solutions. You don't HAVE to go case-less to keep your iPhone thin. I've been using a Caudabe Veil for months and it's done an awesome job keeping that naked feel of my iPhone but still protecting from scratches. The best part is that the case actually covers the chamfered edges. I find the edges are most prone to chipping.

Best case I've used, and I've used a lot of them, especially considering the price.

Never. Because, of course, I am going to cover up a £600 product with a tacky plastic case worth a fiver!

The edges of your phone are most prone to chipping or the edges of your glass screen protector?

Cool case.
