I have tried cases before on my iPod touch and never liked them. Now that I got a 5s, I still dont like cases! In my opinion, unless the case is clear, I bought the phone because of its premium build quality. If I wanted cheap crap, I'd get an S5! Lol! Anyways, my point is, why cover up a piece of art?! Lol!

Never used a case in my life on any phone:

I only own one case; and it's a Mophie juice pack. I love the phone without the case, but the extra battery is just amazing.

I do like the feel but had one bad experience with my phone falling onto tile that reminds me the cosmetic delta is well worth the security one. I just use a Clear TPU one from ebay that cost under $5 and still allows me to see the back of my device. Very happy with it.

Been 'naked' all weekend. Saw my brother on Wednesday and he says he's never had a case on his iPhone 5. It looks immaculate. And he's not particularly the careful type. He once left it in a taxi after a night on the town!

At any point did the conversation become awkward considering the lack of clothing?

I haven't used a case since the iPhone 3GS. The iPhone is like an artwork, so why would I cover it up? It feels so good in the hand. I do have the AT&T insurance plan on it, in addition to AppleCare+. But I've never broken it-I only have them for the piece of mind.

The AT&T insurance plan is a scam. (I use to work at AT&T)

I don't want to have scratches on my iPhone, so I always use a cover to protect the back. Since I love the design I use a transparent cover.
With iPhone 4 and 4S I didn't need it since the rear part was made of glass.

I used to carry mine naked

I carried my iPhone 4 naked for several months. I never had a problem with it but I did drop it a couple of times from the seat of my car to the floor board. After that I started using a case. When I upgraded to an iPhone 5, I started using a Mophie case because I wanted the extra battery capacity. It was a hard trade off, I love the extra battery life but it REALLY detracts from the beauty of the naked phone.

EDIT: Picture deleted. I am so sorry. I thought this thread was something else.

I've uses 3 iPhones caseless, and they are nearly scratch-free after some pretty scary drops. I just like the device being as thin as possible, and slipping out of my pocket easily. But I AM taking a real chance. Physics may win in the end! Sometimes (like for outdoor photography) I add a bumper.

A case is safest, no doubt. If you drop a lot (you know who you are) it's a must.

When I got my new phone, I opened up the OtterBox package before I even opened up the phone. The phone went directly from the packaging to the OtterBox. I don't think my phone would last the day without a case. I am that clumsy.

I'm pretty clumsy too. I agree, I always have a case.

I wouldn't call it a scam, but its definitely not the best deal. Think about it, it's what, $7 a month? So if you go a year without needing to use it, that's $84, almost the cost of applecare+, and then if you need to file a claim it's $199 to get a new phone. And I think you have no choice but to ship and wait for the new device. Total is $283. Applecare+ is $99 and the flat deductable of $50 per occurance...total is $149...and you can go to an Apple Store (assuming you live close enough to one) and get it changed out the same day.

Yeah, Why? I think it's a good thing to get.
