Waste of money. Cut a piece of wax paper and tape it to the iPad for the same effect, if not better.
obviously not

all matte screen protectors take away alot to the display quailty. nano texture simply doesn't. the quailty is still great while removing reflections.

it's worth every penny really nothing worse than having glossy displays that make things difficult to see.

I was worried about the “cons” I read online about the nano textured glass, but now that I have it in hand on my M5 iPad Pro, it is FANTASTIC. The lack of reflections enhances the whole experience of using an iPad - it feels more premium.

And then your fingers glide across the surface without the sticky feeling you get with the standard glass. I can whole heartedly recommend this option if funds allow.

What size did you get and did you get a keyboard?

I got myself a matte Android 14" tablet from Wacom. It's awsome, much better than any screen protector. And it does not have the issue of the nano (can be cleaned with cleaning spray like Whoosh, it's not an issue if I touch it with wet fingers or if splashes get on it in the kitchen). Wish Apple used a similar solution instead of nanotexture, where the microabrations can be ruined by liquids. That's the main con preventing me from getting nanotexture on iPad, it's not even scratches that worry me.

The mothca glass matte ones are shockingly good. I’ve had the 13 with the nano texture and it’s not far behind and degradation is very minimal. Much better than the paper type ones. (Although those are much better for writing.)

I have the base model M4 13” iPad Pro and was intending to get the 13” again, but this time with nano texture and cellular (otherwise I wouldn’t have upgraded). In the end i decided on the 11” to give me more carry options. And yes, I got the Magic Keyboard for it.

Oh ok thanks for letting me know.

The nano screen on the iPad is pretty durable.

Yeah, fans will say this all the time. And it probably is... for their use casel Still Apple say you should not use liquids to clean because of the microabrasions (no I won't be using 70% alcohol solutions, that thing is not even available where I live), no wet hands and no splashes from fruits/food (which are no issues for the standard glass), all things I do. Essentially this should stay away from my kitchen and bathroom.
For someone using their iPad on their couch it should be fine. I don't. I always use my iPads while doing something else. And the kitchen is one of the places I use it most since I cook and eat all my means at home (I work from home). Also while shaving in the bathroom.
Again liquids and splashes are the issue for me, not scratches, I don't need a water proof device since I am not putting the iPad in water or under the rain, I just need a screen that won't be ruined by splashes on it or by a cleaning solutions like Whoosh.

Apple is overly cautious in their recommendations. The occasional splash isn’t an issue. And I’ve used regular microfiber cloths to clean the screen.

Was going to say... if there are people who do 8-10 hours a day of Apple Pencil writing on the nano-texture display ... a little water or fluid isn't going to have any effect on the nano-texture coating............

I've put liquid (water) on mine and all it's done is made cleaning stubborn fingerprints easier to remove. I've also used my Apple Pencil and saw absolutely no issues with it - and that's going to be far more abrasive than most liquids.

However, I've never used anything but water to clean my iPad screen (99% of the time a dry t-shirt/eye glasses cloth works) - and I've been using iPads since iPad 3.

If it was 1/10th as bad as some are trying to make it out here - it would be headline tech news and Apple would be constantly replacing displays. Good grief.

I tried theirs for 17 pro max and took a lot away from display quality to be honest. Seemed grainy

Nano texture is a waste of money and Apple should not be charging for it. Plus shiny displays are better for your vision. This is according to my eye doctor.

Costco - at this very moment - has a deal on an M4 13" 1TB nano AND cellular for $1400. I bought it immediately.
Then I came across this thread wondering if I made a mistake. Here's my take:

If you use your iPad for most things (and not simply a glorified Netflix watching device), get the Nano.
You'll most likely be using that iPad outside of the home and varying situations. The Nano will never be a hindrance in these situations, always a benefit.
Also, the Nano, from what I've gathered is used by digital artists, something I decided to get into with urban sketching which requires to be outdoors a lot.
I come from a position where I used iPads as my main device for nearly a decade and only recently bought a laptop again. So I've used it EVERYWHERE. This is going to be the first nano screen device I've purchased, but I have used screen protectors (meant for writing on) and those tend to wash out the entire screen even when diffusing light. Like, you don’t get the hard reflection, but the screen turns into a sort of a big white panel.
From what I can tell, the blacks are not as deep obviously, but the pictures posted on this thread just tell me it’s comparable to the non tandem oled blacks on standard iPads and MacBooks. And that never bothered me, unless I wanted it to bother me.
The point is this. The nano texture is good for a workhorse iPad (provided you don’t abuse it) because you'll be able to use it anywhere comfortably. I should add, I'm a musician so having something like a nano in places that have unpredictable lighting will be very helpful.

Don't forget to get a few extra Apple nano cleaning cloths for on the go and an extra for home use.

That is an excellent price on the iPad. Good decision. I would also encourage you to get a ZUGU case for it. I use them and it is a top of the line protective case with a built-in adjustable stand all with the case sporting minimum bulk.

+1 on the Zugu case. It's greatly improved with the new lining on the inside of the front cover.

Since the question of 11" or 13" came up in the thread, I wanted to mention that the 13" makes it much nicer to remote into your Mac(s). Even if you don't currently remote in for work, the same feature comes in handy when you want to download large files remotely, do a restart, system update, or just as importantly, remotely turn off your Mac due to bad weather.

Well, yes and no… I mean, it’s only $100, right? If I decided NT would be beneficial, I wouldn’t hesitate to spend $100 more to get it. The problem is you need to pay the huge premium for a 1TB model just to be in a position where you can pay the $100 for the NT! For my work, 256gb is plenty (heck, I’d ne fine with 64-128gb), so that does make NT really expensive for me.
This is what drives me crazy. I probably would spring for NT at $100. But I absolutely don't need an insane amount of internal storage on my iPad and the hefty upcharge that comes with that. So, I'm effectively priced out of NT.

If your willing to go M4 there’s some insanely good deals right now for Nano at the prices of 256 M5. And that 1 TB headroom is just nice piece of mind.
Check out Costco right now.
