Apps NAStify Player, my app to play your videos stored in any server!

I hope I'll not die while correcting bugs or while adding new bugs :p I think I'm spending too much time adding features to the app :p

I spent some time with the latest beta (1.2.1) and it seems pretty good as far as the display of scenes with fast panning that I could find in the few videos I tried. If I do find another file with the "stuttering pan" movement, I will save it so you can see it.

The only thing I would really like to see now is the ability to know where in time you are in a file when you hit pause and the progress bar is shown.

I've just sent a new beta version (1.2.1 build 3) which is solving this problem when playing videos using SMB/CIFS !

Can you may it so that it detects a left/right swipe and navigates to the next/previous menu option?

How about also making the chapter selection a little friendlier? Maybe extract a frame from the video at the position of the currently highlighted chapter? Will make chapter selection a lot more logical.

Out of sync subtitles are caused by incorrect subtitles (not fitting 100% the video file you have), I may add some options to be able to set manually an offset to try to make them fit anyway ...

For the navigation between menus, I'll not do such a thing as it will cause some unwanted change of menu ... When you are in the bottom part of your chapters, just hit the "menu" button on the remote, it will bring you back to the tab choice instantly ;)

Time for some rest now guys, v1.2 should be available on the AppStore soon (Tomorrow I hope as I've sent this version on Wednesday last week) ...
 
SMB starting folder works fine after a few tries.

On the "Start Path (optional)" page, could you add underneath "Enter start path," could you add the following:

i.e.: /DroboS/01-Videos (IP address or server name is not required)
 
Many kudos to you Sylver, NAStify has been improved 100 fold since inception. Excellent implementation of multiple user defined sorts, UI views and overall fluid app.

Although I haven't encountered some of the aforementioned SMB problems nor do I use subtitles, I haven't been able to test some of the features you have added, I do appreciate all of the work that you have had to perform to make NAStify a great app for the ATV4.

The title of the file playing is now correct on first file played and continuous files.

Looking forward to other improvements, but understand that the artist must rest to be able to think clearly,so as not to introduce any new bugs...
 
NAStify users:

Does anyone play .wtv files with NAStify? If so, I'd like to discuss a few quirks I've noticed to determine if my problems are mine solely (possibly due to my setup) or are these problems that might be addressed by Sylver.

My setup: WD MyCloud (quasi NAS - Single Network Disk Drive) to ATV4. Wired 50Mbps, 25ms ping

1. WTV file to ATV4 ... Judders on some scene/camera angle changes. Most noticeable with objects in black. Happens with both SMB and UPnP. Do not have this effect utilizing an ios player transcoding same WTV file from MyCloud to iPad 2 Air.

2. Resume from pause (after leaving NAStify with double home press, and then returning) no video resume on UPnP, only blank screen. Can resume video if using SMB. Audio resume is OK on both, UPnP and SMB.

Thanks for any insights.

Enjoy the rest. NAStify has made the new Apple TV worth every penny. Well done.
 
Hi. Is there support for .M3U playlists? I have tried to get them working through ipTV addon, on plex with no luck on iOS devices. I know the desktop version of VLC had no issues with a M3U playlist or the M3U8 streams inside it. Please let me know as looking for a solution and you may already have it within your app :)
 
Another added benefit on NAStify...

Played music all day from WD MyCloud (quasi NAS Server) to NAStify on ATV4.

My iMac can be completely off for both videos and music, due to NAStify. I've made photos available through Flickr or File Browser. Now I can turn iMac off and utilize the low power NAS to play all my videos, music and photos.

To quote tgwaste, "the Atv4 is worth every penny" based on apps like NAStify.
 
Just a quick message to tell that the 1.2 version has just been approved by Apple ! It should be available for everyone in the next hours :)

SSA/ASS subtitles support will arrive in next beta with delete support (for all protocols excepted UPnP which not allowing to delete files and SMB/CIFS as it require some additional implementation in libdsm that I'll do later ...)

A little suggestion but could you add the current time (time of day) to the pull down? maybe something in the lower right corner? I know its stupid but would be so convenient. While were watching TV my wife constantly asks what time it is. I have to stop the player, go to the main screen, pull up another program, check, return to the player, resume the video.

Good point, I'll add some description of valid format when the user will enter text ! I'll also add an option to allow to set current folder as "start folder" when browsing folders (you do a long tap on a file in a folder and it ask you if you want to select current folder as starting point).

Thanks, I'm not really resting, I'm doing some sport, some mecanics on my car and I spend time with my loved ones to "breath" a little and to keep things clear in my mind :p

1 - Could you send me one of wtv file sample (or a link to one file even if it's a torrent link) ?
2 - I've to make some additional tests about resuming ...

m3u playlist is not supported, and I have to check if it could be possible to add support to this in future !

It should but as said by email, SSA/ASS subtitles are not supported yet (I've added support for this in my internal version, I'll send a testflight version with support for this soon).

I like code :) Event if this lacks the timer to update the time every seconds :p
I think that it would be better to add this above the "Swipe" message when you touch the remote ;)

Thanks for the information, I'll add audio delay setting to allow people to adjust settings to fit their audio installation !

SMB support for file delete will come soon, I know that SMB is used by a lot of people :)

Well the time doesn't display seconds in that code. I wouldn't use a timer for this because its 'at a glance'. Unless the user is planning to look at it for more than 60 seconds it wouldn't need to update itself. It would call the function as needed.

Your idea about putting above the Swipe message is genius. Thats a great place!
 
Didn't know NAStify was already on iPhone. just downloaded and bought it $3.99. :)
