Just bought nastify. Nice tool.
My problem is that iT does nog display .jpg in THE photo folder in my Synology. IT tries and jumps back.

Am i doing something wrong.

One thing I've noticed in (at least) the last two beta builds (didn't check in earlier builds). Sometimes the picture "hesitates" at times depending on whats happening on the screen. I'll try to explain.

First - I use 720p MKV files streamed from a Synology NAS to my ATV4 - everything is WIRED, not wireless.

I did a test with Season 1 Episode 1 of "The Grinder". About a minute or so into the show they pan across people seated in a living room. As the camera pans, the picture hesitates, like the cameraman was doing a "jerky" pan as opposed to a smooth pan.

When I watch the same file using the last few builds of InFuse - the pan of the picture on that episode is buttery smooth.

However, if it's any consolation I also purchased the app "OneVideo" and it exhibits even more jerkiness in the panning video scene than NAStify. Not sure what the differences are between the three apps code-wise, but I know it is possible to get a smooth pan with InFuse.

At least you guys are getting the invitation code from Apple! How long typically does it take? I've been waiting over a day now...

If you are using Gmail, you should check all your folders (spam, trash, etc.).

NAStify Player is not supporting photo view for now, as described it's for viewing videos/listen music !
Photo support will be added in a future update !

Are you using SMB for playback ? I've noticed that for some videos the throughput is limited, maybe it's the problem here ?

I am running SMB for playback in NAStify and Infuse. For OneVideo I am using AFP. All from the same NAS. All the apps were tested within a minute of each other. My internal network is all gigabit (except for the Apple TV 4), and as I said Infuse has no problem with smooth playback. So if it's an SMB bottleneck, it looks to me like it's in the NAStify code (but I'm not a developer). I should change my OneVideo connection to use SMB and see if it improves or gets worse than the AFP setting.

Installed build 23 and the SMB response seems fine. It's picking up my directv in record time as well. Will it be possible to get album art soon? I'd also have screenshots as well for my series collections. Default screenshot unless album art exists type of rule.

It could be the bloc backend. I have their beta as well. If you could send me a link to the file in a pm, I can check it out tonight.

Build 23 should be the final version for 1.2 :)
Album Artwork is almost ready, but I have some bugs to solve before integrating it in beta builds ;)
@fhall1 : could you give me the full name of the video ? I'll give it a try ! Could you also try using another protocol than SMB in my app (ftp/sftp/webdav/upnp) ? I mean that the problem may be because of the SMB implementation in my app, not because of the SMB protocol itself ;)

I have SMB nfs, and FTP using my Asus router if we both want to try to get a slightly larger pool. I'll be at work until about 1am pacific tonight

Does anyone else has the problem when pausing a video that it won't resume? Have to go back and start the video again. The apple TV is connected to a Synology via SMB share.

@tgwaste : Please give me some time to implement file/folder deletion in libdsm :p Implementing this for others protocols will be fast as I already have all needed code to delete things ...
@quick-nik : this is strange ... Is it doing the same if you use other protocols (ftp/synology file station/upnp/...) ?

I had to post another build to fix several settings saving issues ! Thanks to everyone who sent me some bugs reports, it was really helpful !

How much control do you have over the remote functions? I'm disappointed with apple's implementation of controls with the classic button features...I use logitech and it kills the fast forward feature. On apple TV2 and 3, I could fast forward at 3 or 4 speed, but this does not do that well at all. It maybe goes 1.5 speed at the max. There is a jump feature, but I need to update my remote to make it work better. The >>| feature goes to the next video, but using the page buttons will jump further into the video.

V25 test:
I ended up pausing the video to take care of something with my kids. The appleTV fell asleep, I woke it and essentially the app froze and eventually crashed. (format was M4V)

When restoring, there was no option to resume. Took fast forwarding then hitting menu to actually get it working correctly.

I don't understand what you mean ! Do you mean that you're using another remote to control ff ?

Which protocol are you using ? Some protocol (like Synology/QNAP/FTP) will end the session after a given timeout, and it may cause some problems ... SMB protocol will not timeout as long as the app is still running, but if the AppleTV goes into deep sleep (causing the app not to acknoledge the keep alive message), it will disconnect ... It's not an easy thing to handle ...

V25 bug: when pausing the video, the time stamp is not correct. Once I resume, the time syncs up correctly just before the bar auto-hides.

Also, Yes, I use an older logitech Harmony 520 to control the apple TV. The features include FF, RW, step forward (which goes to the next video), step back (goes back a video), page up (steps forward?? I can program this), page down (ditto), menu, back, and probably a few other features.

I'm using SMB and it did go into deep sleep. Infuse has a workaround for that, but I don't know how they do so. The only thought I could come up with is before the deep sleep executes, save the position and close the video. Once the ATV resumes, resume the last video and start at pause from the last saved position. Is that possible?

I guess all I need to do is ask if you have any control over the control options. Don't change anything...I need to play around with the logitech settings and resync it. The controls are based off the old apple tv settings so this may be a moot issue. Also, logitech is very customizable from my end.

Hi guys,
v1.2 is on its road to the Appstore, just waiting for Apple's validation ;)
For beta testers, I've sent a new 1.2 beta which is actually a first version of 1.2.1 ;) Please test opensubtitles download (available in subtitles selesction menu when playing a video ;)).

Was away for Thanksgiving so didn't see your request for a chance to look at the file with "panning" issues. Unfortunately, I have deleted that file.

I spent some time with the latest beta (1.2.1) and it seems pretty good as far as the display of scenes with fast panning that I could find in the few videos I tried. If I do find another file with the "stuttering pan" movement, I will save it so you can see it.

The only thing I would really like to see now is the ability to know where in time you are in a file when you hit pause and the progress bar is shown.

Thanks,
the progress bar problem is a small bug that I have to investigate ! I'll try to find few minutes to solve this small but boring bug :)

Loving the new OpenSubtitles function! Very cool indeed - I've tested it with a number of different movie files and it seems to work well although a couple of movies did seem to haver the occasional subtitle out of sync. I'm guessing that may be more an issue with the subtitle file than the movie.

I have encountered one rather annoying glitch with the UI design, though. With a movie playing that features chapter selection, swipe down to reveal the 'Media Info' menu and navigate to the chapter selection option. I have one movie that contains a good 30 or so chapters - if I scroll down through the list and select a chapter, the only way I can navigate to the next or previous menu - Track Selection / Playback speed - is to scroll back up through the chapters list. Can you may it so that it detects a left/right swipe and navigates to the next/previous menu option?

How about also making the chapter selection a little friendlier? Maybe extract a frame from the video at the position of the currently highlighted chapter? Will make chapter selection a lot more logical.
