That device breakdown is very helpful -- I'm going for the 64Gb Silver, since (a) it's apparently a far less popular color, (b) 64Gb is waay more storage than I need, and (c) it's going in an Element Case, so who cares what color the back of it is?

On the other hand, maybe Apple knows very well which colors/sizes sell best, and makes them in the correct proportions. Whatdya think, just buy all four and see which shows up first? :)

because we have learned...

- first gen products have kinks to work out
- existing iPhones are still fast and an upgrade really isn't an upgrade

Yeah I was really thinking hard about just getting a 7, 8 or SE but I'm just so bored of that form factor. Plus I really want a larger screen in a small form factor and the X seems like just the right size.

Conversly, you could argue macrumors readers might be LESS likely than the average user to buy right away, since theyre savvy to the ‘first release bugs’ that apple can have. Plus they know theyre losing very reliable touch id for something unknown - as far as reliability/usability , face id.

My experience on the forum still says otherwise. I think the norm is there are more early adopters on this forum then the regular public which I hope is the case so I can get the X ASAP! :D

This is it... I’m prepared. My animal instincts are raising their feelers, like during a solar eclipse. We are predators, and this bit of tech is our prey.

I’m going to buy 3 of each to make sure they all work.

News Flash: People who read about the latest Apple rumors want the most advanced phone Apple has come out with.

Not exactly the same question. The MR poll was about who will pre-order (buying) the phone, where your post was about who wants it. A lot of people on this forum may want the phone, but are not willing to pay the high price tag. I'm a member of the "want buy won't buy" group.

And then it's still only 45 % out of 2,500 which is about 1,100 people. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy for the pre-ordering process at 9.01 am sharp (Germany).

Good luck to you all!

Guess I will go fir the 256 silver then!
Yup. Same for me. Always went for the black/(space or whatever more or less) dark grey option because of the black front. White front was and is an absolut no-go for me. This time, with all fronts black, I don't care about the back. It will live in a case anyway.

No Sir, not buying.

Having made the mistake of giving Apple $1k for a phone, never again. Quadruple digit Apple dollars will go towards Macs and the cheapest iPhone my peepers can roll with.

For all who buy the X, may it work wonderfully and be everything you want and more for that $.

Then there's those of us that don't like the phone and wouldn't own it even if it were gifted to us...

No. No offence but "those of us that don't like the phone and wouldn't own it even if it were gifted to us" don't exist.

Well all I could say is if you do get one, enjoy the ride ... it could be a bumpy one ;)

I don’t buy the ‘first release bugs’ idea. I’ve owned plenty of day one iPhones, typing on my launch day iPhone 6 Plus that still works like a beast.

I know plenty of folks who have had iPhone issues and didn’t buy anywhere close to launch.

It’s just a thing to say.
