I don't know about this, it sounds like it is skewed, the majority of the teens that I work with all have android phones because of the costs and their continual destruction and dropping of their phones. Nearly all the adults in my sphere use android phones as well. Very view have iPhones, and those that do don't know how to use it.
YMMV... I got to Meetups and other such social circles and seen things pretty evenly. 1 group, nearly all iPhones. Another group, nearly all Samsungs. Another group, nearly all Android with mixed brands. There are plenty of hybrid groups too.

A good deal of iPhones and smartphones in general have been hand-me-downs to teens. Parents want to upgrade, and the trade-in value, while not awful, may as well just pass it along. Definitely NOT give them new phones. If nothing else, it's not their money they're using to get/replace these.

.

Me... I have an Ipad Air, IpT3, Ipod Touch 4, IpT5, and I've gone through several Ipod Classics. When my current one dies, I have plans to replace. For me IpT... the IpT6 still had the same dinky 4" screen, so that was the first time a new Ipod Touch wasn't an "insta-buy".

I use Windows for my laptop and desktop, and the Chromebook works sooo freakin' awesome that I keep it around as a mobile and superior means for web browsing. I thought about getting an iPhone, but it felt like more of the same thing (Ipod Touch with cell. and better specs), so decided to try Android, and ended up loving it.

Absolutely... I have an iPod in my drawer, but it's been replaced by an iPhone and an Apple Watch... and soon will be supplemented by a HomePod. If you look at the big picture of what that survey shows, it's that more people own more Apple products so it's safe to assume that more people are joining the Apple ecosystem and those with more disposable income are buying more Apple products as a result.

I'd also add that if that survey was conducted on me, I would have completely forgotten to mention my old iPod and MBP, so it's possible others did the same which means the avg number of owned Apple devices could be even higher than what was reported.

From a survey of just 800 people in the US when the population is 323.1 Million.

So much less then 0.001% of the population was asked.

In other words, its a naff survey.
