Hi everyone, thanks is for reading. I’ve been trying to run my is to a Samsung external SSD drive. I found several threads and videos that made it seem easy. I don’t know what exactly I searched for but once I received the ssd, nothing will work. I am run in circles adjust security settings, restarting, restarting in recovery, adjusting security settings, shutting down, restarting Tahoe from scratch again. I’m beyond irritated. Now I’m stuck with my machine with all of the standard Tahoe26.5.1 settings. T7 has been completely formatted. It’s driving me crazy. It should not be this difficult. What am I missing? How do you simply move the os to boot and run from the SSD? All of the easy articles I found are gone. I must’ve read 2-3. I can’t my find any instructions that work. Pic attached is of the message that puts me in a circle until I unplug and start over. Thanks for taking a minute. Will try any feedback. Thanks

The definitive documentation for booting from external disk
Much appreciated. I’ve been over this link a bit and tried following a couple of these but am seeing some things I missed or misread. I’ll update when something (good or badhappens. Thanks again.

Well after hours of different migration methods, holding keys, restarting, formatting, articles that link you in circles, and videos that…well I guess they tried their best, I gave this a try: uninstalled all of my adobe programs from my iMac and then reinstalled only them to the SSD. I’m sure that’s “wrong”, but so far after effects has been flawless and faster with previews, effects, and renders. I’d still like to know how to dump your os to the SSD in case someone comes across this. I need the process dumbed down as my brain no work good with some stuffs. Thanks
