Anyone with it able to test whether you can output from your iPhone to a TV with the video out cables?

I have an iPad and an iPhone 4. When I got the iPad, I got the VGA connector. The VGA adapter works on the iPad, and the iPhone 4, but not on an iPhone 3Gs. I assume it has to do with the screen resolution on the 3Gs vs. iPad vs. iPhone 4.

Beyond that:

Netflix outputs on the iPad, but not the iPhone 4.
Videos from within iTunes & Apple's Video App output from both the iPad and iPhone 4.

Really wish the license holders would remove their heads from their collective, well, you-know-whats, and begin allowing international streaming of movies, TV shows, etc. I am sure that, like me, there are millions of people around the world would gladly pay for such services.

I guess it's simpler for Content Providers if the audience for advertisement is restricted to the US, so they can apply similar ad charges as on TV/cable, etc...

Took a bit of work, but I've managed to get it up and running from the UK, just watched the 1st few mins of District 9.

Can only access the instant queue. Why can't I edit my regular movie queue? Why wouldn't Netflix make an app that allows us to do this, as other 3rd party apps do? :(

Just streamed "Independence Day". Load times were fast, quality is outstanding, and it hasn't needed to buffer. I'm impressed.

I find it hilarious that I had just modded the iPad file to work on my i4 last night because I didn't think the iPhone app would be coming any time soon. Now that the app is here, how do I remove the now old modded app?

It looks like when I did mod the file, I put the app folder in two places instead of just one and had to remove them both using ifunbox and now everything is fine.

Does anyone else have an issue with video??? I can hear that audio while the movie is playing, but see no video? I already reinstalled it twice and rebooted numerous times. Anyone?

Edit: I figured it out. Deleted TVOutTuner app from Cydia and all is well now.

It appears that when on Edge it can't keep up with stream. I don't know why 3G is so flakey here...

Great...it comes out the day after I cancel my subscription.

They only allow this over 3G so users can potentially use up their quota.

I'm unable to login to my account, it keeps timing out. Has anyone else seen the same?

Plus, it's annoying that it clears your credentials after the timeout so you have to type them back in each attempt.

Finally got in. Video quality looks very good, esp. on WiFi. I'm currently in a very good 3G area so I turned off WiFi and the quality drops a bit, but completely usable. In the couple of minutes I played with it, I didn't see and pausing/buffering.

My thoughts exactly.

I just deleted the Phone Flix app thinking the Netflix one had me covered.
I like to be able to be on the go, think of a movie I want added to my queue, it would be nice to search and add on the iPhone.

Very strange since it is about 50% of what I use Netlfix for and the iPad app has it.

It's most likely that they use IP addresses to verify. That's pretty easily defeated if you care to. I probably wouldn't care to myself, but I would prefer it if they extended it to the US and Canada.

Just curious - does Netflix allow you to watch movies on your laptop in the UK? Seems random that they would prevent an iPad from doing it, and not a laptop.

they probably just screen by IP since the license says you can watch in only some countries

Amazing in terms of sound quality, resolution, and overall UI. There are problems here and there, but on the whole it's an excellent implementation, provides everything I could've hoped for.

Does anyone else have an issue with video not displaying? I can hear the audio but nothing on the screen!!!:mad:

Edit: Figured it out. Deleted TVOutTuner app from Cydia and all is well now.

It's great that this app is finally out for everyone! I feel kinda bad for the people who have the 2 gig limit on their iPhones though.

I find it really lame that you can't edit your DVD queue on this app. Doesn't the iPad version allow this? I was all ready to get rid of my 3rd-party Netflix app...but I guess I gotta still keep it now too. LAME!!!
