Very upset this app doesn't let you manipulate the DVD or instant queue, it only lets you watch whatever is already on the instant queue. Can someone recommend a good 3rd party app to manage both queues?

iPhlix, lots of great features, gorgeous graphics. Though I may be a bit partial :).

I used to watch an entire episode of Scrubs on Megavideo with the old "mobilecinema" jailbreak add-on almost every single day exclusively on 3G, and never got past 3GB. I doubt you'll be on 3G enough to beat 5GB. The rumors I've heard is that there's a "soft cap" at 5GB, where your speed is throttled, rather than a hard cap, where you would have no connectivity at all. I don't even know if the former is true, but I've never heard of anyone getting service cut off, or any overage charges on the unlimited plan, no matter what their usage was.

Incidentally, how is the quality over 3G? Any hiccups at all? Any blockiness to the video, or noticeable resolution downgrade?

Yeah I just checked my usage and i'm at 700mb after watching 1 20 minute episode of the office...I think that was a jump of like 200mb or so for that epidsode...my billing cycle ends on sept. 14th so i'll just monitor my usage and see what happens...

The quality is freaking amazing though...It kinda skipped once but I went down to one bar because I was moving on the train. Other than that it was awesome!

I find it really lame that you can't edit your DVD queue on this app. Doesn't the iPad version allow this? I was all ready to get rid of my 3rd-party Netflix app...but I guess I gotta still keep it now too. LAME!!!

+1. That and no multitasking support are the big bummers. The streaming is great and seems to be fast but I was hoping for more. Maybe eventually...

Can only access the instant queue. Why can't I edit my regular movie queue? Why wouldn't Netflix make an app that allows us to do this, as other 3rd party apps do? :(

Noticed that right away too. You still need a 3rd party (iRM is great!) to manage your mail queue. Hopefully they'll incorporate it into an update.

There isn't an app to force wi-fi only now is there? Afraid my wife may not know the difference, and go over on her 3g allotment...

Why is Europe always left out on this kind of apps? It makes no sense that we shouldn't have the same access to video streaming apps as they have over there in the US.

I can search and then add to the instant queue once I select a movie. Does this make you less "upset"?

Good Lord People!!!!!

The app is awesome. Does what it says: Steams instant que contenent to your phone over 3g and wifi! THAT IS AWESOME!

Who the F cares if the icon isn't "optimized for the retina display." Geez. Get a frickin life. YOU CAN WATCH MOVIES ON YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!!! Seriously, when it comes to staring at the app icon and actually watching a movie, I think you'll be watching a movie... why complain about the little things??

For those of you smart enough to keep your unlimited data plan... it's about to pay off.

yeah but will they add a blu-ray mini disc drive someday?

Seriously, this is great as I am thinking about getting an ipod touch when the next gen comes out and trying skype. This adds to the reasons why I should.

Speaking of these movie apps, have you seen the ads for the smart phone (droid?) "pre-loaded" with the blockbuster app? Its not really a big deal but it just irritates me. First of all it seems like it should be easy to go get that app if you want. Pre-loading isn't that big a deal. Secondly it appears that blockbuster is sponsoring the phone. I'd like to know if I buy that phone, how much of that sponsorship is passed on to me as a savings. Or is the benefit to me that its "pre-loaded". Woo hoo.

I'm unable to login to my account, it keeps timing out. Has anyone else seen the same?

Plus, it's annoying that it clears your credentials after the timeout so you have to type them back in each attempt.

Had this issue. A reboot on phone did the trick

Great...it comes out the day after I cancel my subscription.

They only allow this over 3G so users can potentially use up their quota.

This works on 3G and WiFi. What are you tailing about.

Netflix app buffers so much it is unwatchable. I have full 3G service, but it's a no go. Same goes for XM and Pandora most of the day. I typically switch to Edge and my radio apps work fine, but then I end up not receiving phone calls. Seriously WTF. I know the 3G network is clogged, but when all the awesome features of a phone are crippled when I have full service, what is the point.

Real world test (at least for me) NY: Streamed from White Plains NY to Midtown Manhattan. Had three pauses of less than 2 seconds. Never lost pic. The stream stayed strong and did not fail in places my Slingbox has issues.

I'm glad they finally released it. And for some random reason, Family Guy is now on Netflix Streaming so I'm watching that now on my iPod. So awesome!

Just wait until September 1st! They are launching an A$$LOAD of new material that day due to recent studio agreements.

anyway i can get it?

good thing I still have my unlimited plan from AT&T.

I can still tether with the unlimited because I'm developer and I have my own SOCKS5 proxy app.. (like netshare before it got pulled)

Best of both worlds...

Just watched an episode of Lost here in Minneapolis on 3G - only stopped twice for a second or two. Other then that - pretty good picture.

The quality of the video is unbelievable over 3G, I am officially impressed.

I feel bad for those who weren't grandfathered into the unlimited data plan.

Anyone with it able to test whether you can output from your iPhone to a TV with the video out cables?

I just called NetFlix support on this issue. They say it is a no-go with the iPhone app "at this time". My testing with an iPhone 3GS showed audio worked but no video. I *really* hope they address this soon. It is the entire reason I just re-enabled my NetFlix account. I do not have cable and I really wish to stream TV shows to my TV by way of my phone.

We need a netflix account huh.. darn

Just depends on what they have and if it's worth it to ya. There's no contract and you can turn it on or off whenever you like.

Last Februrary, I watched Seasons 1-5 of Lost over a month or so. AT MY LEISURE. So let's see, at .99 cents and episode (actually 1.99 right now) via Apple that would have been expensive.

I just got a new 42' Vizio that has Netflix built in over my wifi, so that has been pretty handy since I don't have a Blu-Ray. Instant HD viewing and the playback has been 98% flawless. A hiccup (rebuffering) every once in a while, but you can probably blame that on Charter Cable.

They have tons of Diego, Dora, Backyardigans, and all those other kids programs so it sure comes in handy when you need a Televised babysitter for a bit.
