Netflix hasn't received a full years subscription from me in over 8 years. Funny how from 2007 to 2016 they made money off me every month. I wonder what's changed lol. At this rate cord-cutter will go back to cable by 2030. On the other hand Apple has had my monthly payments for Apple Music since November 2015 and Apple One since 2021.

Usually how this goes is it seems like everyone here is going to quit Netflix in protest AGAIN (that recurring quit is impressive) and then soon after, Netflix has their quarterly reporting that shows subscriber and revenue GROWTH.

So I guess we think we are going to show them but then they turn around and show the protesters how to have "another record quarter"... much like another tech company we all know.

And apparently, all the quitters re-subscribe too so they can quit again the next time there is a price increase thread with the big red picture of the logo showing.

My family already ditched Max and Disney+ due to price increases. We have Netflix because it's free with mobile carrier.

Honestly the best deal in streaming right now is Britbox. $9/mo, no ads, chock full of high quality content. It's fun as an American to watch British crime dramas.
It is a great streaming service for sure.

We cancelled Netflix years ago and haven't missed it a bit.

I do wish that they'd loosen their grip on Breaking Bad, though, so we can finally get some 4K DVDs released.

Does anyone actually still leave a Netflix subscription running year round? You get such better value swapping out streaming services based on what interests you.

I'm re-subbing to Apple TV+ for Severance right now, and I'll swing back to Netflix at some point to catch up on Arcane and Squid Game.
If you share the account in a household, especially a multigenerational household, it's very hard to do that. Try explaining the rotating subscriptions to your baby boomer mother in law or to the kids why they cannot watch paw patrol until 2026.

At this rate it’ll be $40/month in 5 years

That's crazy talk.
They probably aim to do that within 3.

Jokes aside, it's obvious they're pushing all the boundaries to see what the market is willing to bear and make them profit.

They could double all their prices overnight and so long as at least 50% of the userbase don't cancel. They'll be making more money.

I haven't watched (or missed) TV and movies going on two decades. There's so much to read and I've just started the Horus Heresy. If I want something I'll go pirate it but most stuff isn't worth the effort/ low quality mind control garbage.

Streaming services like Netflix need to be reminded that they existed only because they were marginally more convenient than piracy.
