The market leader at what? Offering unlimited piles of nondescript mid TV that you forget you ever watched within a week? Good for them.
Unfortunately that's something that applies to all of them, yes to Apple as well. There are a very few standouts shows/films in streaming.
I just watched The Gorge, it was a travesty.

Probably just an Apple TV app mistake, Netflix hasn’t changed anything. Netflix is not a channel in the Apple TV app. Never was.
You don't need to be a "channel" to get this support.

Netflix is basically the ONLY service that does no integrate with the AppleTV app. Nobody's expecting them to be a "channel", but that's not what this is.

We know it's never supported this integration, which is why everybody was very excited today to see it.

Why? HDR10+ sucks compared to Dolby Vision. That's why Sony uses DV and Samsung (the bottom of the barrel) uses HDR10+.
I have Samsung TVs and they are otherwise excellent TVs. Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Hulu, and Paramount support HDR 10+.

It's worth pointing out that this has nothing to do with being a channel. Up Next support from content apps predates Apple TV Channels by years and to this day there are many content apps (Disney+ and Amazon Prime to name just a couple) that implement Up Next support and are not channels.

It's probably just a feature flag that was accidentally left enabled in the production version.

Oh 🤣
At least one programmer will get fired, having revealed, that it is doable.

How embarassing, Netflix...
Thinking, it would be an opportunity to get additional customers, who just wait for this, appears to be completely out of focus. But ok - it is your decision and your money.
Not just doable, in the code and feature flagged

Netflix is too expensive and IMO offers the least amount of new interesting content. I cancelled my subscription months ago and have no plans of giving them any more of my money. Rest in peace Netflix. o_O

Don’t the incorporate this into Google TV? Netflix quite happy to have all their shows have Apple products but won’t add this in?

Well that SUCKS.

Spent a few hours happy that it was coming and now its not.

How was this a 'bug'?? Just goes to show how easy it is for AppleTV app developers to fully integrate.
I bet its more work for Netflix to NOT integrate than to integrate.

There is only one positive here.

This story gained a LOT of traction today appearing on lots of news feeds. The reaction and comments have all been positive and along the lines of 'about time'..... so at the very least Netflix have been made aware of our desire to have it.
Obviously they will ignore it.

With only about 14% of Netflix subscribers in US owning an appleTV we just are never going to see any love. This is especially cruel to happen on Valentine's Day.

Maybe Netflix could lure me back in as a customer by having their shows visible on the only app I use for checking for TV contents... Being able to watch inside Apple TV app would be even more awesome as it has the best Vision Pro experience.

Was planning on canceling anyway as I caught up with the shows I wanted to watch after not subscribing for several years, but this clinched it and I even put it in the reasons.

Haha! I had already started considering subscribing to Netflix for the first time in years. #puts-wallet-back-in-pocket

One thing I REALLY wish Apple TV integration could do is syncing watchlist with the dedicated apps themselves.
The search doesn't function as effectively either, sometimes. Today I asked Siri about a movie, said it couldn't find it. I searched in the Disney+ app, and voilà! there it was!

What do you refer to those cable channels that play less interesting TV/Movie content over and over each month? Streaming VoD is way better and simply reinforced by OTA, so really its associated ISP costs that are most concerning. The content you are stuck with is the industry, not regulated by Netflix. :D

I think the logic behind not integrating with Up Next is that they'd be sending viewing data to Apple to make that work, and they of course want to hoard that data and make sure their competitor doesn't get it
Very reasonable, given how Apple operates a competing service.

Why should Netflix provide such data to their competitors for free?
