Seems it has been a very though week mentally for some of the die hard Apple fanboys this week looking at some comments.

But also surprised the see a lot people aren’t blind Apple followers but have some actual logical sense when it comes to these things.

Great. Everyone boycotting Vision Pro is more than welcome. Really hope they will collect dust on the shelves
At $3500 a pop, I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that. Seriously, I’m struggling to understand who this device is aimed at. The average consumer is never going to pay a month’s take home pay for a toy like this.

Very true, other services are going to have native apps, so who cares about Netflix? Right now they are just crying, but let’s wait a couple weeks and see what they say. Next Friday thousands of people will be trying their Visio Pro units and things will change.

That’s kind of the problem. The user base of the Vision Pro is going to be tiny and will probably stay that way as long as the price of entry is so enormous.

I love most Apple products and can even call myself a fan but some of these comments suddenly hating Netflix, I hope they are not serious and just fooling around or by 15 year olds. Cuz that level of fanboyism is crazy.

They’re full of sh*+. It would take one person a few hours over a few weeks to port the app over. The code base and architecture is the same as iOS and iPadOS, and Xcode will do most of the work. Most of what they would need to do would be on the UI side. Netflix spends more on craft services on a mini series or movie then they would spend to port the app over.

Here is the NetflixVisionPro code, someone has already done it! https://github.com/barisozgenn/NetflixVisionPro

And yet they’re not willing to put in the effort necessary to release an app for the apple goggles.

Netflix being right or wrong isn't really important.
For once one of those BS say nothing PR talks would be the most appropriate.

With Mac, iPhone, Watch, and now the headset Apple has taken huge risks on new unproven product categories. We can all understand why a company like Netflix might play it safe and spend money and resources on more urgent matters for them, but making a public dismissive statement like that is a bit of a head-scratcher. You know Netflix would be the first in line to whine and complain in the likelihood the headset gained traction and Apple's own movie streaming services were the only choice for consumers. Michael Dell and Steve Balmer might have some advice for them.

Not a big deal. This thing’s too heavy to sit and watch a film (or even an hour long TV show.) It shouldn’t be marketed for that purpose.

I don’t even see the appeal of a VR live sports environment. Broadcast TV cams have the best view. Being stuck at the 50 yard line for an NFL game would make trying to see what’s going on near the end zones a chore.

As others have said, the key to this thing working’s in the AR potential. Learning a musical instrument or a sport like golf or other skills where overlaying a digital world can greatly enhance and improve one’s abilities.

Spot on. For some people apple is alpha and omega, can do no wrong and everyone not abiding by apple’s wishes is evil and/or myopic. If netflix sees no value in developing a standalone app for the device it’s their call.

On the other hand, I’m beginning to think netflix is letting go of the opportunity of introducing an even more premium subscription tier with the apple goggles, say 40$/month for the privilege 😂

Whether enough disposable income to get a AVP, or much less, nobody thinks Netflix is worth $40/month.

Netflix knows it’s demographic and worth in $ for the average person and wisely won’t put anything on AVP unless there’s little or no r&d costs associated with doing so.

It is what it is. I am indifferent to an app or two not being available on a platform on day 1, just as I disagree that this is somehow symptomatic of a larger developer boycott. Netflix is free to choose what they want to support and when, just as I am free to respond in kind when the time comes.

Cause and effect.

I think you’ll find the hate for Netflix goes back a fair bit further than the Vision Pro introduction, or Netflix’ reaction to it.

Obviously they are not going to develop such app without a face to face negotiation with top apple executives. Netflix on Vision Pro could be a game changer, they know it, apple knows it.
This.

Why rush in to prop up Apple's platform - when there's no discernible benefit to your own service and bottom line?
It's got to be mutually beneficial for both sides.

We've always had active discussions to how we could help each other out," he said about Apple.
I'm sure they could help each other out.

For starters, I believe Apple may really help them out if customers could sign up for and manage their Netflix subscription in the Netflix app, by paying with their credit card. Like... any credit card, not just the ones available through Apple Pay. Just like on the Netflix web site itself? At the same costs as on the Netflix web site (to both Netflix and the consumer).

I'm quite sure that may help Netflix out and incentivise them to help out Apple in turn.
