Here we go again… people said the same thing about iPhone.
Actually, it's *simpler*. All they had to do was - NOTHING. They had to go out of their way and click the box to DENY the app for Vision Pro. The default for all iPad apps is to be available.
Is there actually a market for people who want to watch Netflix with a headset?
idk why people are acting shocked by this, this is the same logic as to why most companies dont port AAA games to macOS. The userbase isnt there to justify allocating resources to it.
"but they can just use the iPad app!!"
if they did this, people would've complained about how awful it is
"they should be investing early in le next paradigm shift!!"
I dont blame anyone for being weary about a new platform that Apple themselves doesn't even seem that enthusiastic about and requiring $3500+ hardware that only .0000001% of the population will ever own.
Is there a special version of Netflix for Shield? Shield runs standard Android TV OS, which is installed on many devices, including Sony TVs.lol and I'm sure Nvidia shield was super relevant.
how did that Facebook portal app turn out?
Dream on.We're shocked by the lousy attitude that he exhibits. It's insulting to his own customers, and it comes across as Apple-hate, probably because Apple is a direct competitor with Apple TV+.
Anyone bringing up the price and calling the product a market flop because of the high price tag is completely ignoring the "VisionOS" platform that the Vision Pro headset is bringing. We're going to see VisionOS running on more headsets and possibly even projector-like devices in the future.
This is just the start of something entirely new...
In the meantime in real world: Netflix’s gains 13M new global 4Q subscribers. Does it give you some idea why they don't care about 80K Vision Pro owners (most of whom might return their purchases in two weeks)?Yup, the CEO's response pretty much validates my decision to no longer be a subscriber. Hey genius, how does a platform scale up? By actually having content providers on it, dumbo! It would not have cost you that much relative to the benefits. Vision Pro is going to be the next iPod as Apple offers different models and price ranges.
Hmmm … just as AVP runs standard iPad apps like Netflix’s, yet Netflix is holding out.Is there a special version of Netflix for Shield? Shield runs standard Android TV OS, which is installed on many devices, including Sony TVs.
Of course they do. All developers hate Apple. Nothing new here.Hmmm … just as AVP runs standard iPad apps like Netflix’s, yet Netflix is holding out.
Are you saving money for Vision Pro?Taking a curious turn, Netflix ceased to hold significance in our household a year ago when we began steadily saving money through subscription cancellations.
Has anyone used the Netflix app for Quest? Last I used it, it was trash. I was hoping to look at a drive-in-sized screen. Instead they show you a large tv-sized screen and just bring it 3 feet from your face.
Because it probably would be more beneficial to Netflix investors than Apple so the answer is no.Why doesn’t Apple just buy Netflix?
I think purchasing Netflix would accelerate the price hikes. We would see $15.99 a month, maybe even $19.99 or higher sooner. We probably would also see a plan with ads starting at $12.99 a month.I've been wondering this myself ever since they launched Apple TV+. It's very clear that they're going pretty full bore into the streaming market, calculating Oscar and Emmy wins, etc. The only thing Apple TV+ lacks, aside from a decent UI and user experience, is content. They could get the breadth and scope of content they really need to justify their ridiculous price increase by spending some of those trillions on buying Netflix outright.
In one respect I kinda hope they don't do this 'cause there's been a detrimental amalgamation of studios over the last decade or so and that's not a trend I want to see continue, but on the other hand... at least then I wouldn't have to sail the high seas so much...
