I give credit where credit is due. Tim Cook followed the instructions Jobs gave him before he passed to a tee. He basically inherited an empire on the cusp of explosive growth because of the iPhone.

Mind you Zuckerberg is the only founder left amongst big tech. If anybody can do anything revolutionary, it has to be him.

I’m living in a family of two. We don’t share account and none of us can find anymore something exciting to watch more than once a month. My first step was to go down with plan to save expenses but I think activating account for one month once a while will be enough. We have also 5 other streaming services.

If they do this intelligently it can boost revenue. They could handle it better yet from a tech standpoint.

Realistically this is what it should have been years ago from a business perspective. I’m so used to friends/family password-sharing that it made me not want to get my own account, besides also not finding as much content to look forward to on Netflix.

We need to che k those number in the long term, it could work for them, for me and my friends it is crap how much Netflix charge for 4K and quality of many of the series are very low. We switched to AppleTV+ and sincerely I'm shocked about AppleTV+ streaming quality and content quality, many of my all time favorite series are on TV+, so since it is quite cheap for now and I have little free time, for me it is more than enough.
I was one of the Easley supporter of Netflix, at least here in Italy, but sadly I don’t like their recent choices and prices. Still Netflix changed the market.

Apple TV+ ended up being a solid use of Apple’s resources, after a misguided start. It feels like an essential service as part of Apple One. Netflix pioneered the market, but Apple TV+ is becoming the underdog with more noteworthy content.

Also Netflix doesn't take into account once all this happens - People will maybe wait till say Christmas to subscribe for 1 month and then cancel again. It wont be a recurring sub.

New Limited-Time Series Coming to Netflix: The Rise and Fall of Netflix.

Mark my words, Netflix will crumble to dust in the coming year. I don't know which lunatic created and green-lit this stupid idea, but it will be their undoing, as they signed their death pact.

In the UK one national newspaper has told people how to get round the password sharing issue. Interested to know if they might also publish how to get round their own paywall.

Those contributors here and elsewhere who seem to think they should have something for nothing leave me almost speechless. Netflix ask for relatively little in return for their service. How do people think actors get paid, the film industry grows and survives and shareholders in Netflix derive something from their investment?

What headache? When people were stealing it, there was no headache, so why is there now?
I don't know about others but Netflix is still advertising that you can watch anywhere and everywhere. That is 100% still true if you are using a device that isn't hooked up to a TV like a Phone or Tablet where the IP address isn't being tracked.
If you do use a device designed for a TV experience you get this fancy screen and have to either get a verification sent to your email or text to continue.
So it is definitely adding more hoops you have to jump through to enjoy the same experience as before when traveling.
It isn't being sold as HomeFlix or HouseholdFlix so I shouldn't be tied to my home IP address. It is NetFlix and should still function where I can freely travel without jumping through hoops to enjoy the content because of the device being used.
At a hotel this check-in would happen once unless you get a new IP address each day. You also now need to bring your TV device with you as it has to check-in with Netflix every 30 days. If traveling in a vehicle you could potentially get several IP addresses during a trip. So couldn't use a device designed for a TV experience. This system is full of headaches depending upon your circumstances of where you want to use it. So when Netflix has basically taken made it more difficult to freely travel using their service.

The canary in the coal mine here is how many people decide to try piracy as a result of this.

Once people get used to pirating their TV shows and movies, it's going to be hard to convince them to back to paying for multiple different packages with all sorts of artificial restrictions.

By all accounts, piracy has been on an upward trend the past few years, and these sorts of decisions will only increase that trend.

*for the moral police here, I am not condoning piracy, but simply pointing out that there is a tipping point to price increases from which there may be no return.
