I LOVE this so much. Everybody is whining, but nobody puts their money were their mouth is and cancel the service.
If they hadn't mismanaged their money for years, they wouldn't have financial issues in the first place. If Netflix wasn't experiencing financial issues to begin with none of this would have been necessary.
Maybe if people would pay for the service they receive Netflix would not have financial issues. I know I know. It's a victimless crime....lol. Except I am a victim for having to pay more because people are cheap and expect everything for FREE.If Netflix wasn't experiencing financial issues to begin with none of this would have been necessary.
Highlighted the answer to your question for you.Why does anyone bother with Netflix? Gosh, Tubi, Pluto TV, and Plex have added so many good (and legally free) movies WITH ADS to watch that I no longer see the point. Surely it's not for their garbage programming.
Yea... I think the whole point of this article contradicts what you're saying...Don't fool yourself, kiddo. They haven't started kicking anyone off yet. Once that happens the cancellations will ramp up.
🤦♂️
No one is using anything for free or stealing. Get that through your head. Someone is paying for an account. And might I remind you, it's an account that allows for multiple and simultaneous streams. Suddenly, where those streams take place matter to Netflix now... when over the past 10+ years it didn't .
Netflix used to be fine with it and even encouraged it is the point. So how can something be selfish when the company themselves encouraged it and then took it away? It seems people have a right to be upset with Netflix's policy changes.
It's not just Netflix, 720 is considered HD, while 1080 is FHD. Am I making this up?I'm surprised that Netflix considers 720p to be "HD".
But I like Netflix)))Everyone should cancel their Netflix account. Save yourself some money and a headache 🤕
This is the part people here seem to ignore. If I'm paying for 4 streams (I'm not...I don't have Netflix)...why does it matter WHERE they're being used? 4 streams is 4 streams...🤦♂️

I wonder what will determine whether their kids are considered an entirely different "location", presuming that they come home for all of vaca with their devices...Most of the people complaining about this are the ones who are mooching off of someone else’s account. I do understand this is crap for people who have kids away at college though.
Mine comes included with my T-Mobile account, so this doesn’t bother me.
Maybe things have changed since I was in college, but how many college students come home every 30 days? I know when I was in college, I sure didn't. Being in a college that was 1700 miles from home didn't make that a very feasible commuteAs long as your child checks in in the primary location WiFi once every 30 days no separate account is needed.
I don't think anyone's ignoring it. It matters, because a Netflix account wasn't meant to be shared with 4 friend's households. I guess you might say it was on an honor system before, which showed that instead of paying for content people try to find a friend who will give them their login. I did that too years ago, but then I got tired of my friend asking me if I was watching something, because he'd given his login to too many people and was unable to watch Netflix himself))) So I just signed up for my own account and have been happy ever since. Even more so now, that T-Mobile pays for itThis is the part people here seem to ignore. If I'm paying for 4 streams (I'm not...I don't have Netflix)...why does it matter WHERE they're being used? 4 streams is 4 streams...

Yes there is a difference. Giving a library book to someone to read is not incurring an additional expense on the part of library. Sharing a password incurs an expense by Netflix.Sharing a Netflix password is no different than a library sharing (lending out) the books they purchased. But to your eyes, the library is probably aiding and abetting in theft. 🤣
And the streaming providers get revenue they wouldn’t have had.My stepmother-in-law has an interesting strategy: I would call it
streaming provider hopping
She subscribes to one service for a month or two and then the next for a time and so on. That keeps the content fresher. It feels like you get more for your money.
Apparently this has been a thing for a few years now.

I think book sharing if frowned upon by libraries...Yes there is a difference. Giving a library book to someone to read is not incurring an additional expense on the part of library. Sharing a password incurs an expense by Netflix.
Let’s call this what it really is, a price increase.
It’s just a price increase by value decrease… Digital shrinkflation!
This is just a price increase in a different form.
As others have said, this is a price increase packaged differently.
Netflix would rather have less accounts that operate within their tos than more accounts where stealing occurs. This way Netflix can forecast more accurate revenue numbers and count their subscriber base.someone I know has actually already stopped being able to share accounts—they were quick to cancel. will be interesting to see what happens when the ability truly gets shuttered nationwide.
I don’t pay for Netflix anyway, T-Mobile gives free Netflix
Maybe but if I take out a book and I have 30 days to return it and I return the book in the same condition I took it out even if 4 other people in my household read the book… no extra expense was borne by the library.I think book sharing if frowned upon by libraries...
Ah, well they don't mind if the people in your household read it, it's when you give it to your cousin Bobby who lives three states away, that they may get concerned...Maybe but if I take out a book and I have 30 days to return it and I return the book in the same condition I took it out even if 4 other people in my household read the book… no extra expense was borne by the library.
