And to think, all those millions of subscribers they gained after the "crackdown", yet they still have to raise prices. Guess times are tough at the old 'Flix. Maybe they need to get back into DVDs...
Seems, reasonable. When people need to improve their financial situations, they consider a combination of things. Factors can include making more money, AND cutting back on spending. There was never any rule that you were only allowed to do one of those things, and not both.

Heh... still recall a comment elsewhere how NF is more than an Apple One Family plan :D Such an apples to oranges comparison (pun intended).

As much as I like ATV+, its content still pales in comparison to other streaming services (there's a reason people pay 3x more for other ss). And I don't care about the the other services (my 9th gen iPad is a glorified gaming machine. And I don't do much of that these days since I got gifted a Switch, so no Apple Arcade either)

Cool! That means that I will save even more money now by pirating Netflix content.
I don't know. There seems to be less content worth downloading anymore. Overall the quality of most streaming content its going down with a few honourable exceptions, but in particular with Netflix, I can't remember when I was last excited for one of their shows? 🤔

I have one subscription - 123movies (dot domain). $20 for 3 months and have access to everything, download to my iPad - AirPlay to Apple TV.

If you’re doing it differently you’re doing it wrong.
It’s totally free how do you subscribe?

I already cancelled this ******** clown show and now with another increase I‘m laughing so hard…if people are still so stupid and follow those increase, pay and pay and pay…no wonder nothing changes..

It's funny how everybody up here is like "UNSUBSCRIBING! NETFLIX HAS GONE TOO FAR!" yet when they come home, they quickly tune into Too hot too handle.

They will continue to raise prices...the new generation is totally in favor of subscriptions, they like to see how every month hundreds of dollars disappear from their bank account for Spotify, Netflix, HBO, etc etc. You don't own movies, you don't own music, you just rent it. If you stop paying, you have nothing, NOTHING! Rent a car, rent a place to live, everything is on rent. Own nothing and be happy! Soon people would start renting electronics, cloths, everything. Subscribe to that!

Think I'll definitely cancel Netflix next month, too much now! I'll just renew if and when a new show like Stranger Things comes out.

I've done the same with Paramount, binged all the Star Trek Strange New Worlds and then cancelled.

I keep Amazon prime for the delivery.

I'll keep paying for Disney until I get bored!

Over the past 10 years, Netflix's subscription prices have almost double.

2013
Basic = $7.99/mo
Standard = $7.99/mo
Premium = $11.99/mo

Oct 18, 2023
Standard with ads = $6.99/mo --> $6.99/mo
Basic = $9.99/mo --> $11.99/mo
Standard = $15.49/mo --> $15.49/mo
Premium = $19.99/mo --> $22.99/mo
The Basic plan is the only one that has increased just 2 bucks in 10 years. I can see why they are axing it.

In wonder how long it will take from now to create a paywall for recurring subscribers.

Lot’s of people subscribe for a month (free), watch a season or more and cancel. Rinse repeat when something else is new.

I torrent everything. Doesn’t matter if it’s amc, paramount, hulu, max etc.

I used to say, that with the price increases we were seeing, the solution would be to reduce the number of subscriptions, even keeping just one big platform like HBO or Netflix, or two cheap ones (Like Prime and Filmin).

I used to say that circa 2022. If they keep raising prices, in 2024 I’ll straightaway discard some platforms like Netflix. I’ven never had Netflix by the way, I think it’s the only platform I haven’t tried yet, so maybe it’s time to get a few months of Basic (no ads) subscription before they axe that plan here in Europe.
