Don’t think they care. They are going to address the issue and in the short run they may lose revenue but in the long run it will be better for the industry.

You’re threatening to cancel Netflix doesn’t affect me in the least. I already told my kids who share my account they will have to pony up. They are fine with it.
The rest of the industry doesn’t do this.

It never ceases to amaze me the number of people that are ok with stealing as long as it is called sharing or if the target is "the corporations man".

Makes me wonder what you all do for a living... would you all be ok with people "sharing" the fruits of your labor just because they think you charge too much?
What the hell am I stealing?! I get Netflix through my T-Mobile that has lines for these people. And if you consider letting my parents use my login once in a blue moon — stealing, then I think you have problems.

What seems odd is y’all are all over the place, no issues. My Apple TVs, iPads and iPhones all on the same ip addresses get kicked off all the time.
I think this is more a question of: do more than 4 devices have Netflix simultaneously open/active.

It’s not stealing. If you’re paying for a certain amount of simultaneous streams, you should be able to use them. It shouldn’t be geolocation based.

It never ceases to amaze me the people capitalists have brainwashed to thank them for letting you work for them to create a product they can sell back to you for more than they paid you to make it.

Ug, here we go again. If you do not find Netflix to be a value to you at the price they charge and under their TOS then don't use their service. You are not entitled to any of their content.

You think I should care if someone steals from the company I work for like that money was ever going to end up in my pocket?

You should care. If enough people steal from your company your job is at risk.

Alternatively, if you own the company the money is most certainly coming out of your pocket.

I completely agree. I've never had anyone get kicked out, which to me, means that, just like you said — we haven't been exceeding our stream count. That dude is acting like we're pirating s—t... Jeez.

When you sign up for Disney Plus, your account can be associated with seven different profiles. The plan covers an entire household, with each member having their customized Disney Plus experiences. Plus, you can share your account with extended family or friends

Disney are fine with sharing, Netflix is going against the grain here.

Yes it is. Sharing accounts outside of a single household most certainly is.

If you’re paying for a certain amount of simultaneous streams, you should be able to use them.

If the streams are being watched by someone that primarily lives in your household then you can. If those viewing the streams are not living primarily in your household then you cannot.

By using their service you agree to their TOS, simple as that.

It shouldn’t be geolocation based.

Perhaps, but at this time it is. I suggest you make your opinions known to Netflix, feedback is a valuable tool.

you can't steal something if you are paying for it

I wish they would give us back the ability to sign-out a single device rather than now, where you have to sign every device out.

Previously, it was great for traveling, as the last think you're thinking about when checking out of an Airbnb is signing out of all the televisions. It was great to simply log in from the laptop and log out of single screens. Now, if you forget, you'll have to log out of everything and then go around the house and slowly add them each back. AND, if you share with others, they'll be texting you in no time for your password.

It's not stealing, but it is breaking your word, since these are the terms you agreed to when you signed up for Netflix (whether you bothered to read them or not--doesn't matter)

And breaking your word is breaking your word, whether it's every day or "once in a blue moon". Unless your parents (or whomever you've been sharing your login info with) is living with you, then they aren't part of your household.

they actually posted "Love is sharing a password" on social media they breaking their 'word'? bait and switch is a lot more illegal and will cost a hella lot more than a few subscribers.

Ok, but when someone in my household goes abroad, I can no longer share Netflix with them? Then I'm fine with breaking my word, which I didn't intentionally give of course, because who reads all that crap?))

Correct. If they're not living with you, then they need their own account.

And of course you intentionally gave you word, unless someone forced you at gunpoint to click "I agree" when you signed up for the service. If you failed to read what you were agreeing to you, that doesn't mean you aren't responsible for abiding by it. If that were the case, then you can tell your credit card company that you don't owe them any interest or late fees because you didn't read the card agreement. Come on, you know that's not how it works.

A vague social media post does not constitute a legally binding agreement of any sort, so it's irrelevant. You're grasping at straws here.

Am I speaking with a Netflix employee? Than yes, if I'm not — see my previous comments :)

I pay for Netflix premium account that allows for 4 connected devices, it states that live with me.
Well my daughter is at university and my other daughter now works abroad.

I see no difference in them using their device wherever they are.

If Netflix decides this is no longer going to be allowed, I for one will cancel my subscription as there are plenty of other streaming services to watch.

I think the more fair thing would be to make you lock in IPs, and only allow changes so often, but that would still work poorly cause people could travel

All of their content is easily pirated.

Netflix is the only service I actually pay for. Mainly for convenience. But their prices have really gone up since I first subscribed. The top tier account with 4 screens and 4K was £8.99 in the UK when I first subscribed. Now that same service is £15.99. I've continued to pay as I still feel it's been fairly good value for money. But if they increase their prices any further, I will be canceling. Not prepared to pay more than £16 a month for this stuff.
