Anyone else forget they even own a HomePod? Alarms stopped working updates ago and so ended my use of it.

I have installed the update on my two homepods and have encountered no problems.
I tried the taking over function with my iPhone while playing music and it worked fine.
Sorry for the people who have bricked HomePods now, here’s hoping Apple will resolve your issues.

Anyone with a bricked one actually tried the hard reset?

How to Reset HomePod Manually
Step #1. First off, unplug the HomePod and then plug it back in.
Step #2. Now, you need to press and hold the top of HomePod.
The white spinning light will turn red. Make sure to keep pressing until you hear three beeps.

Yes, the HomePods keep rebooting every few seconds, so if you long press it will turn red for a second before rebooting again to a white swirl. The thing reboots too quickly to perform the hard reset.

When you say a reset, did you just power cycle them or do a factory reset?
Did a hard reset by long pressing on the top. The problem is that they are rebooting every few seconds in an endless loop, so long pressing on top doesn't work because it reboots before it can reset.

Apple shouldn’t have to resolve issues if they did the job right the first time.

Haha good ol Apple and it’s quality updates...

My iPhone XR won’t update, it downloads the update but then won’t highlight the install button haha...

Every other device I own from other manufactures update perfectly fine, but Apple, by far the most expensive devices I own? Nah...

I think Apple have every year certainly for the last 4 or 5, managed to release updates that have bricked devices in one way or another?

I hope this mess costs Apple a ton of money so they start putting service ports on their devices again. It's absurd that they're making devices without a way to DFU them when updates go bad.
There is a FU in so many devices lately.
