So it looks like the place to be is in Vietnam...

http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/15/apple-macbook-with-2-4ghz-core-2-duo-and-nvidia-geforce-320m-gra/

A faster 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (up from 2.26GHz) and NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM (an update from the GeForce 9400M found in the current MacBook6,1) -- right, the same CPU and GPU as the entry level 13-inch MacBook Pro but for only $999 (assuming Apple maintains the same entry-level pricing)

Vietnamese site Tinhte has managed to get their hands on an unreleased MacBook. This is the same site that published a video of the unreleased 4th generation iPhone.

The upcoming MacBook carries a 2.4GHz processor, NVIDIA 320M graphics card and an LED backlit display. They even have hands on video of the new machine:

Sarcasmville.
Took me such a long time to figure out that this wasn't talking about the Pro's, that I almost posted something along the lines of: is this duplicate news? Re: product leaks, maybe Apple has a round robin thing going, in a span of time, they will give product leaks to a certain group, and they will never ever get another 'leak' again.

It is really difficult to justify now the premium price charged for the entry-level MBP 13".

From the clock on the side of the MacBook box above it appears the white MacBook will still have a 7-hour battery. The difference in $200 comes from the battery, RAM, Firewire 800 port and SD Card slot.

Let's not forget the aluminum unibody case. I'd assign at least $50 value to it.

Some people prefer the look and feel of the white MacBook's(which also have a unibody enclosure) so I didn't really think it was worth mentioning.

Made in the USA means something more now!

It is interesting to see all of these releases of information. If the products were made in the USA and someone was on an NDA, then Apple would have significantly more actionable consequences against said individuals. Since the manufacturing takes place in countries that do not have the same laws for intellectual property as the USA, then Apple must deal with this.

Food for thought???

I think the manufacturing cost differentiation overrules any consideration of controlling leaks - particularly when we are talking about a minor spec bump in a 6 month old notebook.

Apple must be using some very untrustworthy new partners with all these leaks. Either that, or perhaps they were worried about their public image after the rough handling and suicides of some factory workers. Maybe they're just relaxing a bit.

Anyway, not a terribly groundbreaking update. Nice computer though.
