Your appraisal of this post is not shared by people who know Engrish when they see it.:D Wait, wait, it's context! :D

To be fair, I singled him out solely because he just seemed so emotionally involved. His posts were very involved. And, the "aluminum is more expensive" side seemed to be tiring of him. I could single you out as well if only you would post some gibberish as well, but your post is intelligible.

Here's a fact, though: Oppenheimer (he works for Apple, in case you don't know) said aluminum is more expensive. At least, that was when it was adopted in 2008. Aiqw has been strangely silent about this. And when you think about it, if you're smart, you'll know that the only opinion that matters is Apple's - it wouldn't even matter if they were wrong in their cost analysis. That's why, to put an end to this, I directed people to Apple's quarterly conference calls. Facts without the logic of which facts are relevant are facts that nobody needs. This is why anyone speculating about transport costs, weight, etc - this is the reasoning of people who don't really know the what's what of business. There's a lot of factors. You need to be Apple to know. End of story.

Does it matter who won? Still, the answer is NO. If you agree and think Oppenheimer's sentiments are better than idle speculation, you may think I have won this argument. I did not. The quote is old. Anyway, the costs could change any time.

You're a joke. You just wanted to assume I was somehow "emotionally involved" in a argument on an online forum. You called yourself a loser by continuing to argue about plastics and aluminum. Case closed, your pathetic argument is over. I'm not checking this thread anymore, you're a waste of time.

No, it's an easy trap to fall into. The "leak" is a MacBook. The pricing and specs is a MacBook Pro released last month.

Oddly, both purport to use the 320M graphics. I find that odd, but not impossible obviously.

Regarding the box, if the box printing hadn't changed, I'd expect to see the first wave to perhaps show a copyright of 2009. Spec labels on the boxes are usually a sticker (at least they are in AU).

However, un-skewing the front of the box, the width of the closed MacBook picture isn't as wide as it is on the 2009 MacBook. Hmmmm....

Also, on the pics of the "Apple System Profiler" pages, there is a very obvious cut and paste of a blank area over the unit's serial number. However, on the graphics card info, the "Device ID", "Revision ID" and "ROM Revision" have also been blanked out but it's not obvious until you reduce the brightness of the image. Why take the trouble to obliterate the graphics card info (and perhaps making it a LESS obvious edit)?

And with respect to the serial number, I imagine it would be quite easy for Apple to trace the unit via any of the 3 clearly shown MAC Addresses on the box.

My 2c

I found your post here very interesting. I thought copyrights may simply have been filed earlier or whatever, but lacking your image-sleuthing skills, I can only assume you know what you're talking about.

Have we all been had?

You will find that your subjective appraisal of yourself is not shared by people who know ornery truculence when they see it:

HAHA! Troll? This is hilarious, I love when people pull strawmen arguments[/U].

Frantic attempts? More like you just ignoring my refutes for you to try and salvage yourself [etc]

Right, you're 100% neutral hence, the poised diction your post, which don't make you sound like mr. angryface here  at all. I just call it as I see it; I think you know who's been providing the jokes.

Anyway, I just want to say it's too bad that people have been adding you to their ignore lists. :( It's kind of mean, just because you're ornery. I mean, yes, if what Oppenheimer reported is still true, you were wrong despite your hysterics, but it doesn't mean you don't have insights to offer in the future, and you'll probably be less overconfident next time.

I did not, and I don't even care that kny3twalker didn't credit me - no doubt it was quicker to just copy paste the relevant part, and I don't deserve the credit for Apple's publications. The quote is old, anyway, and the costs could change any time.

you're right. I quoted you, but I also read the article aiqw posted a link to which was also quoting the same individual from Apple.
And you're right. You found the information, so the credit is yours. Thank You for providing the truth, which should have been obvious to begin with.

This reminds of math proofs, where its obvious, but hard to do the proof, itself.

Doubtful; he already got the week long (or maybe it was just a few days?) ban just a couple weeks ago for the same issue.

i don't feel bad about my 2.2 santa rosa macbook from 2007.

Me neither about my 2.4 C2D early 2008 MacBook with 250GB and 4GB RAM (all original). And it has a seperated audio-in, very important for me! The only pain in the ass is the Intel graphics...

Gone up in price here too. Its now £849 was £819 I think.

Same thing here, from 949 euros to 999. A tiny difference with the Alu MBP at 1149, little money that gives you the alu case, 4 gb ram, an SD slot, a firewire 800 port and a backlit keyboard. Unless you love plastic, why go for the MB given the small delta in price?

From 899€ to 999€ in France :(

With optional 4GB, difference between MB and first price MBP is only 60€.

So why they release this MB at this price ?

In Spain the price is bumped from 899€ to 979€.

Not really surprising considering the Euro has been dropping like a rock with no signs of stopping compared to the dollar.

When the prices for the people over in Europe drop the Euro was worth $1.60-1.70 (if not more)range and rising. Now the Euro last time I looked was at $1.25ish and not really showing much signs of stopping its decline.
