Agreed! I was horrified at the idea when the rumors of the notch first surfaced, but when I found out the aspect ratio was preserved in full screen mode, that the menubar went alongside the notch, and the mouse went behind, I was much less upset about it.

I wonder what will be available at the stores on launch day. Anyone with recent experience? I don't remember the last time I shopped "offline" :)

I was tempted to get one, but I have a Universal Audio Apollo sound interface, and their drivers are not optimised for Apple Silicon, relying instead on running code through Rosetta translation. I'll hang on until they are optimised for M1.
 
These truly are incredible but I can’t justify the cost as just a guy who wants to dabble in Logic Pro. I guess I have no choice but to wait for the new Airs :(

I took the plunge with M1 when it came out. As a developer, I knew I was in for some rough ride initially, but it honestly wasn't half bad. I am probably going to sit this upgrade out, though, the benefits over the super-portable M1 MBP are not worth the trade offs in weight, bulk and, I assume, noise and thermals.
 
Anyone order a fully specced 16" Max get delivery earlier than Nov 10-17? I know I ordered early enough to get day one delivery, but as I started to customize my options, it pushed back delivery to Nov 10th at the earliest.

Do the review units that go to you tubers already sent out to them earlier? not sure when their review units show up online before next week or is is the same day as rest of the the buyers?

Same here, ordering was annoying. Everyone buying at the same time it was so slow, I was so sure I was going to get a delay on it getting here but so far so good. I guess well see.

I know it's crazy right? It's almost like Apple didn't design a computer specifically for you, but rather what it's pro customer base has been asking for. Hopefully the next one they design will be in your honor =). If something isn't for you, you are welcome to just move on and buy something that is luckily, but thanks for sharing.

Says Preparing to Ship. Still shows Oct 26th date. Ordered in the first 3 minutes of the store going up via the iPhone app, since the website was kept stalling if that is relevant.

My credit card just got charged but has not yet moved to Preparing to Ship... guessing it will do so shortly.

14", M1 Max 32-core, 64 GB, 2TB SSD
