The first woman is pleasant to listen to. The latter two are annoying as hell, stereotypical YouTubers in the negative sense.

The main difference between the MacBook Air 2018 and the MacBook 2017 is basically Thunderbolt and an extra port, and the bigger screen.

ie. The MacBook Air 2018 is the 13" MacBook.

But at a much lower price tag, to justify the marketing. They overpriced and under marketed the 12” MacBook. It was meant to be a push for USB-C only machines to set the road for their main product debut which is Touch Bar MacBook Pro series.

The best thing about this new Mac is the lack of touch bar IMO. I can only hope this permeates into the MBPro models too...(even though I know it won't, since Apple will use it as a differentiating factor...but I really like the function keys!)
I love touchbar

Only if the person who created the "unboxing" video had copy-written the idea they'd be a billionaire.

Talk about making money for doing nothing.

I can't even begin to understand what you're talking about, and I'm pretty sure I don't want to.

Because they're women? Hey dude, the 1950s called, they want their stereotypes back.
Lol. He's clearly stating Apple is not "inclusive" enough to include some males with the gaggle of females.

"Pretty sure you don't want to?" Oh, the horror for asking for some men to be included!! Terrible! Close your eyes and hide or perhaps scream and cry until it goes away!!

1950's? In the 1950's, households were lucky to have one TV set. There were no computers. There was no YouTube. Television showed married couples sleeping in different beds.

What the hell are you even talking about?

Out of curiousity I watched the second video. A waste of time. After she’d unboxed it, she went on with the well-known Apple marketing materials and bla-bla. She also gives recommendations which MacBook Air to get. Is this the so much discussed new profession ‘Influencer’? Because that’s what she looks to me.

I’d date her, though.

Understand that these 'influencers' help to sell more Macs, but it's just sad that they are the ones who get the devices earlier and get to keep it for free (correct me if I'm wrong) while Apple discontinued the developer hardware purchase program.

Who the heck wants to watch somebody pull a product of a box? Unboxing videos are worthless and baffling.

Well you're a negative nelly, aren't ya?

Something tells me she wouldn't be the slightest bit interested.

And now there's a 13" version. It's only an "Air" by name, it has a Y series chip like the MacBook 12 not a U series in the previous Air.

So it’s actually lighter and uses a lightweight processor. Feels pretty Air to me. The only thing not “Air” enough is the missing fan.

The MacBook Air with Retina display should be released years ago. Instead, they created an overpriced fashionable netbook in 2015, that no one wanted or needed.
That’s where you’re wrong kiddo. MBA enthusiast have been wanting this forever. No, it’s not a overpriced netbook but, really an update 13in macbook

NOT a MacBook Air. Sorry, they’ve taken a MacBook or MacBook Pro, and CALLED IT a MacBook Air but it’s not one. Sorry. I know it sounds weird, me saying what Apple calls it’s own product is incorrect, but... imagine if for 2019, Ford Motors came out with a new model of pickup truck, and called it the 2019 Ford Mustang, and then announced a new muscle car, (which looks, I should add, a LOT like a 2018 Ford Mustang,) but said it was the new F-150 pickup truck.

This new computer being misappeliated as the MacBook Air has USB-C ports like the MacBook, shrunken screen bezels like a MacBook, it’s missing the SD Card port, MagSafe 2 port, and real USB ports and Thunderbolt/Mini DisplayPort... well, like a MacBook, has that same godawful, stupid, lousy “butterfly” nightmare keyboard, and same ludicrous, outsized touchpad, and of course, a scaled-up price... just like the MacBook....

Face it. It IS. A. MACBOOK.

What this REALLY MEANS is that they’ve killed off the MacBook Air and just given its name to something ELSE, and I, for one, REFUSE to play along.

What Apple’s done is like... well, consider this scenario:

“Kids, say hello to Mom...”

“Dad, Mom lives in Cleveland with her girlfriend Rebecca, and that’s not Mom.”

“Yes she is. She’s NEW mom. New and improved. You WILL love her, and you WILL call her ‘Mom’. Or else.”

“Dad, you can’t just take some other woman... whoever you are, you seem nice but you’re not and never WILL be our mother... and tell us she’s the same person, DAD. Also, we’re adults now, so your threats really just seem sad and pathetic.”

Following the introduction of new iPad Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini models at yesterday's event, Apple provided some YouTubers with MacBook Air review units, and the first unboxing videos are now available.

For its last several product releases, Apple has been providing early review units to smaller YouTubers, a strategy that lets us get opinions on the new device from less mainstream sources. Today's unboxing videos provide some interesting MacBook Air tidbits and a first look at Apple's newest notebook.

The MacBook Air features a Retina display with slim black bezels like the MacBook or MacBook Pro, three color options, a slimmer body, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a 1.6GHz Core i5 8th-Generation Amber Lake chip from Intel, integrated Intel UHD 617 graphics, a T2 chip for security, built-in Touch ID, a third-generation butterfly keyboard, and a Force Touch trackpad.

Full reviews of the MacBook Air from media sites will be shared next week, and the new machines are set to start arriving to customers who placed an order on November 7.

I think it's a step up from the macbook. At least it has two USB-C ports. I was super disappointed with the lack of SD slots, I thought they would go with micro SC slot. And also disappointed with the lack of macsafe. But it's Apple under Tim loser Cook. You just have to lower expectations. You are right, it isn't a macbook air, just an upgraded Macbook that should have been released the first time.

But when you have no leader, i guess we have to be happy with two ports. I can't believe the lame processor and the ram! 2015 specs!

They don't get to keep it. They have a window to review it and return it, else they get charged full price.

I personally don’t watch any women’s tech reviews. I know it’s chauvinistic too. I just don’t want to hear what a woman has to say when it comes to tech. Some may hate this viewpoint and state how outdated it is but it’s mine and that’s fine with me.

Your views are an embarrassment and exactly the kind of thinking that makes men in the tech industry look bad. The same goes for anyone else that writes off a reviewer because of their gender.

You probably have not used either of them

It should have a Touchscreen, a decent keyboard and an affordable 512 Gb SSD by now. Phil’s ass can’t innovate again.
Or the whole Mac industry became stagnant after 2015

And none of these "smaller youtubers" are able to actually review the machine. Instead they mostly show the box contents, the stickers and how good the machine looks on camera. Oh, they also show parts of the apple's keynote to fill the video time, that everyone and his cat around the entire world, has already seen.
