like many others have posted, i still cant mms with beta 2. called rogers before and lifted all media block from my phone, i cant even see the camera icon......well thats y its beta

you can also read my test in 100 Features... which is a few threads under this one. Its on the front page. Bottom of the first post.

Even if you have a page loaded and it is reduced down it should NOT run in the back ground. The iPod will stay active now until you turn the iPhone off. Each app takes 5mb running in the back ground.

I had a sense that's what you meant, but I haven't seen 5.0, just 3.5 (which is what I have) and someone mentioned 3.0 but I have a sense they were referring to the F/W by mistake. What does the carrier digit mean? I've forgotten.
 
Volume

I just noticed that when I turned my volume down it wouldn't go to "mute" but it would only stay at the lowest level before mute. Perhaps a bug.
 
Anyone know if the baseband has changed for the original iPhone and if there is a new baseband for the 3g iPhone? Also if this beta will be downgradable like the first one?

The baseband in B1 was 4.20.01 right? I don't remember, I *think* that's what it was. The baseband in B2 is 4.22.01
 
oh crap lol

I think I screwed up royally.

I'm a newly registered and activated developer and downloaded and installed the SDK. Then I downloaded and installed 3.0. But I didn't first register the UDID. Going through the documentation I read: "Please DO NOT install the iPhone OS before registering device UDIDs, as installation on non-registered devices will render them inoperable."

Now my iPhone is locked, purple-screened, asking to be connected to iTunes (it is) and appears like I just bricked it.

When I go to iTunes I get: "We're unable to complete your activation. This device is not registered as part of the iPhone Developer Program. If you are a member of the Program (I am), please register your device in the iPhone Developer Program Portal."

But since I already 'installed' 3.0 before registering the UDID...I think I'm screwed.

Can anyone help? I tried calling Dev Support because I read in some Google search that you can give them the UDID and get it all back on track?

I think I'm going to go drink now lol
 
Used to get full 5 bars of ATT 3G at my house but after updating to beta 2 I barely get 3 bars of Edge. Lame!

On the plus side, the OS is completely usable and I plan on keeping it. I have WiFi here at home so the 3G thing isn't much of a problem. I'm hoping it doesn't act up around the city.
 
If you have Audiobooks DO NOT GET BETA 2

Audiobooks will sync to the device, but the iPod no loner recognizes they are on the device.

This is how they "fixed" the chapter problem from beta 1.

This is an interesting issue. You are correct that Audible Audiobooks sync to the device but are not recognized. However, if you sync one Audiobook that you got directly from iTunes (not through Audible), then the iPhone will start recognizing all your audiobooks, including the Audible ones. And it appears that the chapter problems from beta 1 are gone.

Can't quite figure out what explains this odd behavior, but as long as there is a solution, I am reasonably happy.
 
guys I got the beta 3.0, my phone has been registered....could you please tell me where I can download the beta 2 ?

Autobrightness works now. Helps a LOT here in the Florida sun.

Pictures are moveable after you zoom into them without a hard tap.

iPod launch doesn't act like contacts used to in 2.2. It loads faster now.
