That's what happened to me with the first beta, now with beta 2 it hangs at the end for a second, and then goes through.

I want my friend to try and send me a video msg, will let you know if it works.

Thanks! :)

hands on

I would really like to get my hands on this beta. I do not have a mac, so no point in buying the SDK. Can anyone help me with this? PM me if anyone has an open spot on their dev kit

google the build number it's not that hard to find.

you do realize that googling the build number and installing the .ipsw won't do anything, because the phone/iPod won't activate until the UDID is registered with an official developer account, right?

wouldn't want you ruining any of your devices...

* There's a new entry under Settings beneth the Phone, iPod etc settings just called "store". It has no icon and it contains nothing in it.

This is just a wild guess, but during the iPhone OS 3.0 event one of the slides had "iTunes account creation" written on it. Perhaps this is where you'll be able to create / edit your iTunes account details on the phone?

some other things-
shadow around messages icon is gone (apple listened to the spaz!)
audio quality issues seem to be gone (need to test on my car stereo, which made the issue most apparent. will do this tomorrow)

Does anyone have any clue why force quite doesnt work in any of the betas?

I still can't get tethering to work over bluetooth, any guides out there?

do you have sdk 3.0 installed on mac?
if you do, then go to bluetooth explorer
utilities and set Click Utilities -> "Get Local Device Info" in the menu bar.
In the Local Bluetooth Device Information window, click "Simple Pairing"
In the Simple Paring view, select "Disabled", then click "Set"

turn them on from settings---messages

He has it set to on, as do I. It seems some can get it to work on ATT, with either 8 GB or 16 GB iPhone 3G devices, as well as various message plans. I never activated tethering with the previous beta, and neither have a few. It seems to just be random for the moment until further notice.

I'm running 3.0 beta 2 on a 16GB iPhone 3G. No luck with MMS. Setting turned on with this new 3.5 carrier, still no luck even after a restart :(

i called att today and added the 200 iphone messaging plan.
one for the 16 and one for the 8
then i told the rep that she has to remove the block for MMs from the plan.
after that....MMS send and receive .
PS: with the modified ipcc file on att 5.0

supposedly you don't have to hold down the home button for a force quit anymore, just a regular press of the home button works

Not true...Put FreeMemory on your iPhone. Open iPod and/or Safari and leave a page loaded but reduced. Open free memory after you close the other apps with one home button push. They will still show and are using 5mb of memory as they continue to run in background.

Then open up safari again and close ALL pages and check free memory...it will be gone.

Well it makes sense that safari with a page loaded will not quit totally otherwise how would it remember what page you're on when you go back into it. I dunno about the iPod. Weird.
