New 3.0 Build SDK and Firmware!

Beta 2 is much better. Biggest problem I've encountered is copy paste. That function works but when I cut I cannot paste. Anyone else have this problem?
 
I've noticed with the global Shake to undo, you can do more than one step backward! That's pretty awesome.

Also, has anyone tried this?: select a block of text on a web page, then touch & hold, then drag? You can drag the selector around the screen and it dynamically shapes to each block you pass. Its been there from the start but its still awesome. ;)
 
Exchange Passcode Intervals/Beejive

Is anyone running this beta with an exchange account that requires a passcode lock? My employer requires that I use a passcode lock. Under 2.2.1, I have the option to enter it immediately, After 1 minute, After 5 minutes or After 15 minutes.

Under the first 3.0 Beta, the only option was immediately. Is this still the case?

Also--Is anyone running BeeJive? It was insanely crashy under the first beta.

I havent, I've never used call forwarding.

The icon only started appearing as I updated my phone to 3.0 beta 2, it now happens when i turn the phone off and then back on again.
 
Hey Does Anyone's WiFi work?? i have restored 3x times and it's not working!!! any ideas??? anyone else having this issue it selects it but when i go to safari or App Store it says on 3G doesn't CHANGE!!! :mad:

I was able to get it working by turning Wi-Fi off, restarting, and turning Wi-Fi back on.
 
Upgrading

I'm currently on 3.0 beta v1. I want to upgrade to version 2, but I'm not sure if I can.

Before anyone asks, I'm not a dev, and cannot do it from Apple's site. However, a dev does have my UDID registered on his account.

I just want to know if it's possible for me to upgrade. I currently have a torrent version, but I'm a bit skeptical about it.
 
Is there some sort of "trick" to copying things from a website? When I double-tap to activate the "copy" function, all it does is zoom in/out on that section of the page.

How do you activate copy/past in Safari?

Open up your webpage you want to copy from, and place one finger down around what you want to copy and leave your finger there for about a second and then just take it off. It will come up with the 4 'dots' and you can move them around to select what you want to copy.

Go into your wireless router, and add your device's 'mac' address to the allowed devices tab. Then go into WiFi on your phone and enter then required information for your router. The name and the password. It should work fine after this.
 
I admit I didnt read every page, so forgive me if it's already been asked. if I update from 3.0b1 to 3.0b2, am I also forced to update xcode or can I continue using the old 3.0b1 sdk?

I know, I know... I should be using the latest one, but they're frickin huge and they put a large dent in my month download quota.

I'm a newly registered and activated developer and downloaded and installed the SDK. Then I downloaded and installed 3.0. But I didn't first register the UDID. Going through the documentation I read: "Please DO NOT install the iPhone OS before registering device UDIDs, as installation on non-registered devices will render them inoperable."

Now my iPhone is locked, purple-screened, asking to be connected to iTunes (it is) and appears like I just bricked it.

When I go to iTunes I get: "We're unable to complete your activation. This device is not registered as part of the iPhone Developer Program. If you are a member of the Program (I am), please register your device in the iPhone Developer Program Portal."

But since I already 'installed' 3.0 before registering the UDID...I think I'm screwed.

Can anyone help? I tried calling Dev Support because I read in some Google search that you can give them the UDID and get it all back on track?

I did the same think with beta 1, but it's easy to solve.

connect you iphone to your mac, open up xcode, menubar item "window" -> "organiser", pick your phone from the list and there's your UUID
