I generally like my Apple Folio cover. When I first got it I thought the edges were a bit sharp. Now they feel okay. I don't know if they have softened up with use, or my hands have gotten tougher ;) The magnetic attachment is probably the best feature of the folio as I can switch to my Apple Keyboard folio with ease.

I agree, the edges are definitely not as sharp as they were when I originally got it.

The edges were always a non-issue for me. I sat back amused when I saw all the complaints here, as if Apple had fitted razor blades to the thing. :D

Also loving the magnets. I’m finding I use the tablet naked more now (;)), as it’s so easy to detach it from the Folio. With most other clip-in cases, I’d be reluctant to take it out/in constantly, but with the magnets, it’s a sinch.

Also, the Folio is very tablet stand-friendly - I mostly use the iPad on my meals table, on a stand & the Folio has absolutely zero hindrance on it.

I resisted getting what I felt were unnecessarily expensive Apple iPad cases in the past, but I wanted to try the Folio case for the magnets and slim profile. So I picked up one for a slight discount as an open box item from Best Buy.

I’m so happy with this case. It truly lays flat and precisely fits my 11” Pro. I adore the slim profile. There’s protection and grip without the bulk.

Because of its slim design, I’m able to slip it into sleeve for travel when I want to further protect the flat edges of the iPad itself and keep the Pencil separate when charging isn’t required.

I’m so pleased I’ll probably get a second Folio case in another color. If a same quality case exists on Amazon, I would buy it, but so far the couple that I tried had loose magnets, were thick, and tended to flop when flipped back. Very annoying.

I bought this so that I would have something ready at purchase. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J6NKVZP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's hard to say for 100%, but it appears to be very close to Apple's folio case. It also has room for the Pencil to attach to the case.

I went for the 12.9 Ztotop folio.
Fit's well, magnets are good...dunno how it compares quality wise to the official one or how long it will last but it feels fine to me....

Anyone else’s Smart Folio case for iPad Pro going.....well....wrinkly around the edges? Only had it since Xmas. I had the last one for three years and it never did this.

Post a picture and I can compare with one I had on release day.

Well here is mine in use from iPad Pro release day. I see it is getting slightly worn, but maybe that is why it feels better in my hand. I do not own a Apple Pencil, so the wear around the pencil charging area is due to handling.

It's not been bent. It's happening in about 5 or 6 places around the edge - front and back. It was an Xmas gift from the wife so will have words about swapping it out. Many thanks folks.

I bought mine second hand (half the price) but it had an Apple sticker on the back. Took it off, outer layer got loose in the middle. Looked like an Apple-shaped bubble. It's kinda flat now, but you can still see a mark. Otherwise really happy with it, wouldn't want to pay full price instead.

I picked one up, but find it a tad mediocre, especially for the price. It isn't very stable, and I've been seeing an issue where it gets a bit stuck in a rolled position, rather than wanting to lay flat on the face of the iPad. I'll likely be returning and biting the bullet for a smart keyboard.

I’m on my second folio. I returned the 1st one because it had these weird little sharpish “teeth” along the edge of the cover. I didn’t notice it at first.

The replacement felt perfect smooth. At first.

Lo and behold after about 2 weeks with the replacement, I just noticed the exact same tiny teeth have developed in the same spot where I hold it.

Good picture, but I'm having trouble figuring out which side of the case this bad edge is developing? Is it the folio cover side with that has the cutout for the camera, or is it the folding cover side? Not sure it matters but I'm checking out my case.

The reason I ask is that on my folio the photo cut out side, is getting really rough and raised slightly. This is just by the charging connection for the pencil. I don't own a pencil BTW.

So this is happening due to general handling. Though very odd since I tend to hold the folio on the side that is bound like a book.

Mine hasn't reached the level of your damage by any means. But I am disappointed. I don't use my Apple keyboard folio as often. I wonder if that is going to develop issues?

It’s on the cover flap. Not the camera side.

You’re holding it wrong

Mine has little weird bubbles on the edge in one small part, I don’t think it’s coming apart or anything but if it gets worse, it has a one year warranty and I’ll just get another one.

Is the smart folio covered under warranty? The hinge on mine seems to be losing its magnetism, kept slipping

This is exactly what mine does. On my second one after 1 week and it’s starting again already. I think I’ll buy a cheaper one from Amazon with a pencil holder. It’s probably higher quality than what Apple came up with.

Well I just noticed that my Apple Folio back is starting to ripple/wrinkle. It is very subtle to the eye, but as I hold it in landscape mode I can feel it with my fingers.

The area in question is exactly the area my fingers hit while I hold it flipped open in landscape mode. The other parts of the back of the folio, that don't get handled as much, show no wrinkles. Heck, if this was leather I guess I'd be into the look

There seems to be thin rubberized skin over an elongated "wave" design for strength. I saw a picture, in these forums, the edge layers separating and it clearly showed a "teeth" like substructure from the exposed side.

I'm very disappointed in this, especially for the high price of the product. My previous iPad accessories had no issues even after many months/years of use. Yes, a trip to the Apple Store is in order. I'll have to wait until the weather calms down here as travel is a bit dicey. Does anyone think newer versions will be any better. If not maybe I'll try for a refund.

Here is a picture that I converted to B&W so that they are easier to see.

View attachment 816517 This is one bit....it’s happening in a few areas of the back and front

What the heck Apple! I just wish I could find a really good leather replacement.

The ones I’ve had all do what MCDJ posted. I’ve gone through three now, on the fourth that’s already doing the same thing.

What yours is doing is from moisture. Either sweaty hands or water droplets got on your cover.

Well I guess I should wear gloves :D I need another brand in leather. I would understand better and/appreciate why leather would patina as opposed to plastic.
