New Apple Leather Case

As a case hater, today I went and bought a red leather case for my space grey 5s. Love it! You don't notice it on the phone, adds a bit of grip and makes the phone nicer/more comfortable to hold.

Expensive, but well worth it IMO! 🙂

After 5 days of using the red case, I ended up exchanging it for the black one.

Unfortunately the case seemed to love the blue colour of my jeans and it seemed to have rubbed off around the edges.

Still pleased, it's a great case.

amazon cable doesn't fit

Word of warning: The Amazon Basics lightning-USB does NOT fit with this case (despite what some users have posted). You have to really force the cable in for it to charge, and even then you have to hold it in place. I'm ordering monoprice and hoping for the best...

Also-- I got the black case for my silver 5s, and it looks/feels awesome! Could not be happier and have already gotten compliments (we'll see about the durability...)

For me to use that adapter without complication, I would have to remove the case from the phone.

This is probably a bit neurotic, but with respect to the new cases, is it normal to have about a half mm space on the left side between the phone and case, or should it literally be skin tight without ANY give?

i have the same exact thing with my case, and the freaking power button is really hard to push (it will ease over time, i hope) to volume buttons surprisingly give a very nice feedback

Our two case's arrived today, one red, one blue, I have to say im very very impressed. Slim, well made, great fitting and they add a nice touch of colour to the phone - i was going to go for black as I always do, but took the chance with red and am pleased I did! Click for larger images.

Which car mount of theirs is that? Found it, i have the same mount without the usb. Need to find a black lightening cable same size as Apples. My Griffin car charger won't fit.

Glad to hear your iPhone is okay! Nice that it did the job, better having your case a little dinged up than your iPhone!

Funny thing is I had the Tough Armour on it for weeks and didn't drop it once!

Thank you for posting your review. I was shocked when midway through the review you stated that the pictured "green" case is actually supposed to be yellow.

I am/was really looking forward to having the yellow case, but seeing this look much more like a keylime green shade is really disappointing. Is this really how the case color appears in real life?

Hopefully I'll be able to see one in an Apple store whenever I stop by.

Yeah there good, i have the adjustable holder and have used it with defender, tough armour too. I have one for the phone naked which is smaller and felt covered too. I swap them around.

Funny thing is I had the Tough Armour on it for weeks and didn't drop it once!

I dropped my 5 in the Tough Armor from 6ft onto tiles. Landed on the back just pitted the back of the case a bit. I got my moneys worth.

I'm guessing the same 30 days return policy still applies. I might do the same, I bought the red one and it's already worn out from my jeans pocket. It made the case look all dirty.

It looks like leather wrapped on plastic. If you look at the opens at the bottom of the case you can see plastic inbetween the leather.

I'd say return it. I wouldn't mess with it, just in case they won't accept it.

So far so good. I chose black since what it wears it should be trivial to clean up with some black leather dye / conditioner or if all else fails shoe polish. 🙂
