I have the black version, very nice case.

One query for those who have the case.........mine bulges out slightly around the cut outs for the lighting connector and the headphones, does anyone else's do that??

Thanks.

Heres a few pics of the Yellow case.

My black case showed up from Apple today. If only I had a phone to put it in, but that will follow soon.

My first impression of the case is that it's very high quality. Not Vaja quality leather, but not a Vaja price either. I am very impressed with how light and slim it is. I'm looking forward to giving it a go. I have 5 cases lined up an this is the first one I'll use.

Yes, I'm a case whore.

Well, I am another person who can attest to the fact that the Amazon lightning cables are too wide for the opening in the Apple leather case...and just by a hair or two.

I even tried to force the cable through the opening. Not recommended as it takes a little of the hole coating off. Luckily, with with a lighter and an box opener I was able to reseal the scuff marks.

Its a real shame that Amazon made their cable connectors so wide and incompatible with a lot of cases, as I like the cable more than Apple's.

Just got the red today. Sorry for the lighting.

I found out the following regarding cables and the Apple Leather case:

* Apple: The connector head on the Lightning end of the cable measures 4mm thick, 7.5mm wide, and 12.0mm long/ tall.

* Monoprice: The connector head on the Lightning end of the cable measures 5.75mm thick, 10.4mm wide, and 17.0mm long/ tall.

* Amazon: The connector head on the Lightning end of the cable measures 6.5mm thick, 12mm wide, and 19.6mm long/ tall.

Sources: Monoprice site, Amazon site, and Apple measured with a ruler.

With Amazon's almost fitting...I think Monoprice is my next stop to get a black colored lightning cable. Has anyone else tried different cables with the leather case?

I'm thinking about trading my brown for the beige, but I don't know yet... But I like how it looks with the galaxy grey.

As a case hater, today I went and bought a red leather case for my space grey 5s. Love it! You don't notice it on the phone, adds a bit of grip and makes the phone nicer/more comfortable to hold.

Expensive, but well worth it IMO! :)

Thanks for your recommendation. Since the iPhone 5, I've also been somewhat of a case hater. Think I'm gonna try this one out.

anyone find a solution to the apple case and working out using an arm band. the case seems too hard to take off and on to put it into an armband.

My son wants to get the yellow case. Let us know how it is for dirt or marks in a week or two.

Thanks.

I just got mine today. I'll get back to this thread in about a week or so. So far i'm loving it. You just really gotta be careful with cases like these. Especially if you're paying $40.

But i'm sure it shouldn't be any problems. No stains from jeans. Been in and out of several jeans today and shorts. Nothing happening at all.

Yeh I think they need a decent week to see how they cope with in and out of pockets, have to say liking mine as well, makes the 5 I have much more comfortable to hold.

Think yourselves lucky in USA, here in UK we are paying the equivalent of $55 for the case!! (£35 GBP)

I honestly never would've noticed that on my black case, but yes... Ever so slightly!

Doesn't bother me at all.

Question.. What's a good 3rd party Lightning cable that'll fit fine with this case?

I had originally thought the Amazon Basics cable will work. But when i tried plugging my phone in. The cable is just too thick to fit in the case.

Any recommendations? I think the Apple ones are just so flimsy... my original one for the 5 is pretty close to retiring.

I'm loving the build quality on the Amazon Basics. Was wondering if there was a smaller version of that? Anyone tried Monoprice?

Looks like Monoprice cables fit: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/18026548/

Don't blame Amazon, blame Apple. Very few cables fit through.
