I think a lot of negativity comes from it being an inferior product even to the first generation Pencil. This seems slicker then the gen 1 and its protruding lightning plug, and it’s cheaper to boot, why the negativity?
Inferior is relative. If it does what you need at a cheaper price point it is a superior product. Value depends on the user case.I think a lot of negativity comes from it being an inferior product even to the first generation Pencil.
So this is… Gen 2 of Gen 1 but not of Gen 2 cause that would be… Gen 3???No. This is a replacement for the Gen 1 only and doesn't offer wireless charging.
The Gen 2 remains available for the Air and Pro.
I wouldn't bet against Gurman. He has a pretty solid track record. I wonder if he's neighbors with Tim Cook lol.So Gurman was right about no new ipads this months
Something like that. Depending on which way you look at it. It's either Gen 1.5 or 0.5 🤣So this is… Gen 2 of Gen 1 but not of Gen 2 cause that would be… Gen 3???
I feel you are confusing superior with sufficient.Inferior is relative. If it does what you need at a cheaper price point it is a superior product. Value depends on the user case.
it's weird it supports tilt but no pressure sensitivity. I guess its more of a marketing limitation than a technology one. Heck, I would even be willing to bet it can physically support pressure sensitivity but is disabled in the firmware to get artists to cough up the big bucks.Umm... It doesn't respond to pressure. So this definitely isn't for artists. I'm guessing this is just for note takers. Here's the graph
then they just buy the more expensive version.Like I said, goofy juice. This pencil will hold magnetically to newer ipads, but doesn't have pressure sensitivity. And won’t charge magnetically. This pencil seems to exist just to piss of artists.
Alluminium..Great, another compromised product. I’m getting so tired of this sh*t. Steve and Jony would never!
Except that:I think many people don’t want to try to find one on Amazon that works by wading through reviews that either say ”great” or “it sucks.”
Paying a little bit extra to avoid the hassle is worth it to many people. Others saving a few Euros is worth it. To each their own.
The logic is pretty simple...Hover but no tilt like for 1st and 2d gen?
What the hell is the logic here
@rappr What are you disagreeing with? You LITERALLY are paying less for a pencil that DOES LESS. It's Apple's own comparison chart! 🤣 Sorry, just had to chuckle."At Apple, we think different! With the ALL NEW Apple Pencil Three, now you can pay less to do less!"
I feel you are confusing superior with sufficient.
Except that:
- they ALL work, even the $15 ones, as they are all based on the Logitech Crayon technology
- your are not saving a few euros, you are literally paying 5 times less...
I have tried several of them and they all work exactly the same in terms of writing and drawing, the only difference is in other features like charging (USB C or magnetic), short or long press to turn them on etc, weight and shape (although they virtually all look like pencil 2).Based on and working well are two different things. Judging by some reviews the clones quality vary greatly. Everyone has their own preferences and what determines value beyond price.
If price is your determining factor order from China as it is cheapest.
Because this is the Internet and powerless people like to feel that quick shot.So both USB-C and magnet charging?
(EDIT): Why is everyone downvoting this? It's just a question...?
This. This is definitely the October event that we’ve all been waiting for!
Your USB-C iPad came with one.and usb c to usb c charging cable *sold separately*
Probably because you can buy this for $14 and it’s literally better than the garbage Apple just released today. I actually own this and I’ve owned Apple Pencil 2. The key difference is that the clone has magnetic charging and Apples new abomination doesnt. https://a.co/d/0wzbqhTThis seems slicker then the gen 1 and its protruding lightning plug, and it’s cheaper to boot, why the negativity?
