Why do people here still keep calling the product iWatch?
Why do people still refer to it as a Watch?

I'm not bothered. Just amazed consumers are willing to pay $50 for some rubber. More power to Apple for great marketing.
Not amazing for most people. Click here to find out why (#17).
It took a while but we original iPod naysayers were finally vindicated when Apple finally put the nail in the coffin.

My wife just got one -- this past week. Apple Watches are not redundant at all. Wherever I go I see "everyone" with a huge cell phone in their left hand (a few hold it with their right hand), but my wife now finds she "never" needs to take her iPhone out of her purse when she's on the move. My sister finds the Apple Watch perfect when she is taking care of special needs children; she never needs to find her iPhone -- her Apple Watch is always there and never gets in the way of her work or her charges. One sees the same thing on the "red carpet" at Hollywood events; movers and shakers don't have "time" to always be holding something in their left hand (a few hold it with their right hand) but on the wrist, a $70,000 Apple Watch on Beyonce looks pretty good. The Apple Watch is a lot like Twitter: one has no idea how clever it is until one starts using it.I've never paid much attention to the watch seeing how it's just a novelty/gimmick. Since it relies on the phone being with all the time, it's completely redundant. But 50 bucks for a piece of rubber?! LMAO!
In answer back to your reply on this, YES.
Actually a VERY BIG YES on what others pay affects your future purposes.
Is we have a lot of dim people with money to burn who are seen to be happy to pay say $49 for something that costs under $5 to make, pack and ship, then companies see this, and it sets new price point for other future items, other brands also see "what the public are willing to pay" and lots of prices get pushed up.
It's only when enough people say it's too much, and refuse to buy, do makers re-thing their pricing, perhaps cutting a price of changing things in the future.
So yes, Someone paying $50 for a strap, does in effect affect someone else.
It's not "dim", and it's not about "cost".
(What is cost anyway? Did people take into account the design and nights people spend thinking about it? I always see people quote only raw material and as a designer I find that insulting)
Why am I buying Apple seemingly overpriced band/case/whatever?
Because 3rd party products didn't satisfy me. Every time I tried 3rd party band/case/whatever there's something annoying about them. Something like a too sensitive iPad case that can turn off my iPad mini even when the cover is behind the screen, or Belkin charger that damage a circuit inside iPhone 4 so I can not listen to anything on its speakers but when the call came it ringed. etc. etc.
All these products are more cheaper than Apple, and it's not worth it. It's simply not worth the hassles.
I buy Apple band/case/whatever NOT because I have more money than sense but because it never annoys me like this. So I'd rather pay more. Sometimes grudgingly. When it doesn't satisfy me then and only then..
On a reverse side, if people don't pay more what do you think will happen? Will Apple lower the price? Or there will be no "Apple" (insert overpriced products here.. fashion brands, famous restaurants, whatever) no more? Thinks about it.
Dim people are someone who thinks flatly, who knows only "cost" but not "value".
No Apple, we don't care about the bands. We want you to make the Apple Watch better.

So having a decent job is cause enough to fork over $50 for some bright rubber? As my grandpa used to say "if a gold turd had a high enough price tag he'd buy it"
That is a whole new level of lazy to not want to reach into a purse.
There's a whole new level of unhappiness and jealousy to put so much time and worry into how others live their lives and spend their money.

The new Apple Watch bands that were introduced at Monday's "Let Us Loop You In" event are now available for personal pickup from Apple's online store, letting prospective buyers check in-store stock levels and arrange for in-store pickup after purchasing online.
Apple has been selling the new Apple Watch bands in retail stores since earlier this week, but prior to today, there was no way to know if a particular store had a specific band available for purchase.

Many bands that will not ship for several weeks from the online store, such as the Gold/Royal Blue Woven Nylon band and the Yellow Apple Watch Sport band, are immediately available in Apple retail stores across the country. There are some bands, like the 38mm Scuba Blue and Gold/Red Woven Nylon, that appear to be in shorter supply and are not available at most stores.
The Woven Nylon bands, available for $49 in Gold/Red, Gold/Royal Blue, Royal Blue, Pink, Pearl, Scuba Blue, and Black, are a new product line that just debuted this week. Apple has also updated the Sport Band, Modern Buckle, Leather Loop, and Classic Buckle with new spring color choices and introduced a new Black Milanese Loop.

I have not met any Apple watch owner (and I have spoken with about 7 ) that is excited about their watch.
Almost all just say, "it's OK".
Personally at this point in time, I was expecting Apple Watch 2, not just some more (IMHO overpriced) rubber wrist straps.

When I run into a fellow Apple Watch owner we run our mouths a mile a minute about how it changed our lives or saved us some grief.I have not met any Apple watch owner (and I have spoken with about 7 ) that is excited about their watch.

Wow! Apple news are getting more and more exciting:
A 4" phone and now more band colors (at $50 each)!
Who says Apple can't innovate any longer?
