It isn't worth your trouble to snap a few photos with your iPhone and email them?If I were them, I'd want proof as well. What company would send you a free replacement without proof?
"all of these reports about buttons falling off"- I've only seen three or four reports in this thread. That doesn't make it an epidemic. My guess is that the majority of customers are happy with their bumpers.....I know that I am.
Perhaps the bumpers you bought were from a bad batch or something. I've put and pulled my iPhone out of my pocket more times than I can count since I received these bumpers, and they've held up just fine.

...and more times than not satisfied customers don't voice an opinion - it's usually those with an axe to grind.Just to throw some more anecdotal evidence out there, not 1 in the 50 that I have had the buttons come off.![]()

if the buyer isn't going to take the simple steps to document their problems they should have no serious expectation of receiving support.
Was disappointed with these bumpers. The look cheap and they do not have the tackyness of the apple bumper.
So has anyone found a cheaper knockoff that is in fact the same as the apple bumper?
I want the rubber to be tacky so when its on a inclined surface it says put.

would this dock station work with a bumper on?

I don't like companies that require 'proof' of anything, a LOT of companies will trust emails to customer support about quality control problems without asking for pictures or video. They even said "if you could include pictures, or useful VIDEO" - like what? You don't trust that my buttons fell off? It isn't as if these things are $20-30 a pop, there's nothing for me to gain in telling you that my $8 order that took almost 3 weeks to get to my house fell apart. *grumble*
The rubber and plastic parts are exactly the same as the apple bumper. I'm more than pleased with the 3 I picked up. No problems with any of them.
Unless the Apple bumper has changed since I got it on day 1...these are not the same. There is 0 tackiness (the rubber on these is closer to the rubber on the SGP Neo Hybrid EX). I can take my iphone and place it on flat surfaces and the push it and it resists. These knock-offs dont do that. Also I got a red one, and the plastic looks cheap.
If you're happy then fine, but I expected OEM replacement quality.
I got my Apple bumper during the free case program. I've compared mine with someone who bought a case on day 1, and it's the same.
I also bought a red bumper from SW, and the plastic looks exactly the same as the Apple bumper's plastic that I also have (except for the color, of course). The rubber is just as tacky as my Apple bumper when I push it along a flat surface (as you described above). One of my friends is one of those iPhone OCD people, and he went and ordered a few of these after he saw mine. My friends that dished out $30 for their bumpers were like "Aw, man..... I could have spent the other $25.60 on apps!" when they saw mine.
I don't know why I keep coming back to this thread to defend these bumpers..... as long as I'm happy, what do I care if you aren't?
Besides the buttons on these bumpers (which are nice enough), they are as if they were manufactured by the same company that makes them for Apple.

ZipZap said:I suppose you can go through 4 of these before you have equalled the price of one Apple bumper...but is that reasonable thinking?
The docks do work with the bumpers I can confirm.
Anyone got some more info/advice on how to loosen up the power button on these? My green transparent one has the same issue and the power button is too tight to press. Tried pushing it out from the inside with quite a lot of force multiple times with no luck.
