Something to lose
I'd rather have it built into the case like this offers.

He should offer the reverse too.
Why would you want to ruin perfection by adding a USB-C port?
It can be attached to the cable as shown in the picture. This is if you aren’t fond of using that specific case or have an older iPad, AirPods case, or similar.Something to lose

I still prefer the mechanics of the Lightning port, and half of my devices are still Lighting. Why go from a modern connector to an obsolete connector?
Good for him but sort of a silly and unnecessary product.
Agreed. Those of us with old iPhones are probably fine with the Lightning cables we collected over the years. He's mostly just using his engineering skills to create content, so that must pay more than engineering? [Or perhaps he's having more fun this way.]

Lots of things that we enjoy are unnecessary, yet contribute to our quality of life. At home we have a mix of lightning and USB-C devices, and so have multiple cords and adapters around, which is annoying. When leaving the house I need to think about which devices I am taking with me and which charging cords I'll need. This product seems very practical to me. However, I doubt that I will buy one...Good for him but sort of a silly and unnecessary product.
And someone who doesn't want to put a case on their iPhone can buy one of those simple little adapters shown in this thread.he is giving options to people who will likely find access to Lightning cables to become more difficult in the coming years.
The post I was replying to wanted to only have to take one cable when traveling, while still being able to charge both Lightning and USB-C devices. This adapter accomplishes that: you only have to take a USB-C cable with you, and can keep the adapter attached to it at all times. It doesn’t require a specific cable any more than the case does. That's still something to lose and requires a specific cable.

I didn’t quote you by mistake, please review the reply chain. You replied to me first, in #26.You quoted me (by mistake perhaps?) which is why I replied as I did.

You can subscribe to his channel, engage in comments if the videos have them, and tell all your friends/readers about him.I'm tempted to support his engineering passion hustle somehow. However, I plan to run out the usage of my 14 Pro caseless.
So you want a USB-C iPhone to have lightning port back? Ignoring the extremely high chance that Apple will NOT approve such product using lightning port, idk what would be the use of that. That would get more views, which are the real product anyhow.
Cool concept, but who's in the market for a $60+ case to put on their 2+ year old phone?
