I'm going to tell you something right now. I did not know this about Samsung pay. I watched the ad and I still didn't know that about Samsung pay. Had you not told me this I would be sitting and wondering how that ad makes sense. Now I know.Samsung Pay can be used on both NFC card readers and regular magnetic strip readers. Apply pay can only use NFC. It is a valid point and should be a consideration.
There aren't any mandates. It just makes it such that retailers are actually responsible fornfraudelent transactions now. You're not wrong in that we are going to see "everyone" adopt NFC and/or chip readers, but magnetic strips right now are still a very big reality. People keep their phones for 1-2 years, on average, so for TODAY, it's not a bad feature for us Yankees.iirc, the whole magnet strip thing will soon be moot as most retailers are mandated to switch to chip and pin or face fines

Eh. Apple never fails to mention Android in a keynote. They just "have" to talk about how this and that adoption rate is better than Android. The technology isn't pure retardation. It is the way they go about advertising their sh*tty products. They just have to include an iPhone in their ad and mock it.
You must be very young if you think that. Apple haters were born alongside Microsoft. Lol.Samsung's ads = Possible reason of the existence of Apple Haters
This company must not exist.
OS X haters were born alongside Microsoft. iOS haters appeared out of nowhere in the last few years (or at least as far as I can remember), and it was most likely due to false advertising set up by Samsung who explicitly bash the iPhone and thus their followers start bashing the iPhone as well. You must be very young if you think that. Apple haters were born alongside Microsoft. Lol.
Which is kinda like how Apple mocked Microsoft in a lot of their ads. Or Phil Schiller mocking android and the different manufactures. Look, it happens. All companies do this, including Apple. Its a bit hypocritical to bash Samsung yet turn around and praise Apple when both have a history of taking shots at the competition. The technology isn't pure retardation. It is the way they go about advertising their sh*tty products. They just have to include an iPhone in their ad and mock it.
Now see here young man, don't you be bringing logic into this threadThis thread....
You people need to take a step back and evaluate what angers you, affects you, etc.
It's a simple advertisement in a competitive market. Both companies want your money, there is no reason to get upset at one and praise the other. Apple has their "if it's not an iPhone" commercial...who do you think that is mostly directed at?
Anyway, I am looking forward to my iPhone arriving Friday. But, before I get rid of my note 5 (great phone) , I'll probably give Samsung pay a try once....just to see it in action.
That doesn't even remotely resemble the commercial OP described.....
Not sure if this is the advert you are talking about, but I think its pretty cool.
Nah. iOS haters were born with android lol. It really has nothing to do with Samsung. Both sides take jabs at one another. Samsung,OS X haters were born alongside Microsoft. iOS haters appeared out of nowhere in the last few years (or at least as far as I can remember), and it was most likely due to false advertising set up by Samsung who explicitly bash the iPhone and thus their followers start bashing the iPhone as well.
The ad is stupid because it doesn't clearly communicate what is being advertised. I missed it too. Samsung pay isn't limited to NFC readers. It also works on regular magnetic terminals. That is what they are showing in the video, however I'll admit, they didn't do a good job of doing that, except for maybe people who already knew about the feature anyway.what a stupid ad. everyone knows to put their finger on the home button.
what's with samsung pay with their phone turned on before scanning?
I don't need to do that with the iphone! place thumb on home, place phone near terminal. no need to even power it on!
samsung mobile keeps mocking iphone users like we're some sort of morons. nope, not gonna buy your phones, *******s.
Without some explanation it doesn't really quite seem that the commercial itself does that at all.Why wouldn't they capitalize on the fact that they're currently the only mobile contactless payment option that can be used just about everywhere? It's not asinine, it's smart.
Bingo. The ad is stupid because it doesn't clearly communicate what is being advertised. I missed it too. Samsung pay isn't limited to NFC readers. It also works on regular magnetic terminals. It's obviously not any more secure than a regular swipe. The reality is, that has been good enough for Americans for a very long time. And it's the biggest reason why it's taken so long to adapt to higher security options. To me the big question is not how easy it is to use, nor in how many places it can be used, but rather, how secure is it?
Samsung is counting on that. There's no way Apple would even entertain the loop pay tech.
The problem with these new Samsung adds is that they're plain aggressive. They showed the iPhone being broken, dysfunctional, poorly made, etc. while Samsung is triumphing over it, even though most of it is exaggerated. Also, I hate how both Apple and Sammy portray paying using a card to be a pain and failing constantly. It's not, it takes 10 seconds to take the card out of my wallet/pocket, insert it in the terminal, and enter my PIN. ****ing modern US propaganda. For people getting upset over these ads, just watch some old I'm an PC, I'm a Mac ads by apple.... Samsung is just copying appleand seems we don't always have a sense of humour when we are the target.
It's just an ad... Meh...
