Super-stable operating system, huh? They must mean Tiger, 'cause Leopard crashes on me more than XP ever did before switching.

I think it is kind of sad

Me personally I disliked those advertisements. Apple plays a game of stupidity.

I think they should choose adds to be more professional and funny. Not to compare Vista, PC vs Leopard, Mac all the time. This is so sad.

One thing is.
Leopard sucks too.

My idisk doesn't work even Apple programer had to check it out. waiting for update.

It crashes, sometimes. blue screen,

Time capsule on N, Time Machine sucks with their updates every hour and the network is slow as b or g. 800Mb to copy within 8 hours?

Get a grip.
this is not a mac, this is a expensive ... call it how you want.

I think the best commercial that pretty much go with the above statement is the "Choose a Vista" game one. Here's some "FAIL" pic to go with this thread:

That's a bit misleading because you can't upgrade from XP with a Upgrade from Basic to Premium disc, nor can you upgrade XP with a Premium to Ultimate disc. It's illogical.

Same idea, if Apple said $75 for Tiger to Leopard, $100 for Panther to Leopard, $129 for Upgrade all disc, what do you think people would buy? If I had Tiger why would I spend $129 when I could just spend $75? Microsoft knows their OS is expensive, so they make them into deals. Also sure there are a few version: Basic is just Vista, and then you get crapware the higher up. Leopard is just crap all the way--Seriously who needs 5GB of printer drivers?

If only Windows users knew what Exposé was, they'd switch in droves...

Yes expose is convenient but it requires moving from the keyboard to the touchpad which is slow. I can almost use the computer entirely with a keyboard; Command-Tab switches my windows; Same thing on my Windows computer; Exposé is so overrated!

I know what you mean; Kernel panics, crashes, etc. all have happened on my Mac. Vista has yet to crash on it's own!

Time Capsule is [expletive] product; I have 200GB of backups--said it would take 6 days over Gigabit; what the heck is that? I can store 200GB on my NAS drive in 3 hours tops! Man internet is like molasses; I have a WRT600N which gives me 8MB/s downloads; the Time Capsule is always stuck at 700KB/s. I don't pay for speedy internet so my router can slow it down!

---

Of course the advertisements are fun to watch, but it becomes comical; yes Windows has to do that; Vista upgrade requires hardware upgrade; doesn't Leopard have that same requirement for older machines or Quartz Extreme doesn't work? Those functionality advertisements--those I really hate; they should try something like this:
Mac: Hi, I'm a Mac.
PC: Hi, I'm a PC
Mac: I come with a crap load of shovelware known as iLife.
PC: I can design bridges, landscapes, simulate environments and machines. (with Maya, AutoCAD)
Mac: Yes my users have great imaginations and they can image those things through the pictures they store in iPhoto.
PC: No. Fail.

Lame And Old

These commercials are lame and not funny. They may have been funny at first but they killed the joke. I wish the would just come out with some new ORIGINAL ads. To each their own, but if you think these things are still funny maybe you need to get your head checked.
:(
p.s.
Some of you fanboys are sad. You act like Apple gives a **** about anything but your $$$! I've been using macs since the 90's and i've yet to receive a check in the mail. You'll defend apple to the death while someone is raping your sister!! SMH

Much of Apple's potential market has never used OSX, and they benefit heavily from users promoting their product. Therefore losing a few '$$$' providing a good experience to one customer can make them much more in the long term. For example they replaced my CD MB with a C2D, and I've subsequently 'switched' many people.

I was talking specifically to the die-fanboys.
At the end of the day it's just a product.

Wow. Just wow. What are you doing with your Mac? Leopard has never crashed on me, in continuous use since it came out (rebooting as required with updates). Can't comment from personal experience on Vista - the IT people under contract with my office won't let us have it due to stability concerns, in spite of the fact that we already have to reboot our XP servers almost daily (to avoid crashes and time outs caused by massive drops in speed).

Sounds like there is some problem with Time Capsule's calculations of time required for backup. Or you are occupying your Mac's resources so fully that none are left for Time Machine.

Well, having just now watched the four latest ads, I'm not sure which one had me laughing the loudest.

Keep it up, Apple! And remember...

PC's Number 2! PC's Number 2!

It would nice for Apple to refer to it as a PC loaded with Windows; a Mac is a PC after all. What makes a PC crap isn't the hardware but what is being run ontop.

While that is correct, most people still view pc as any windows machine, while a Mac is a different thing in many peoples eyes, even though they are both technically PC's.

Well yeah, especially since the switch to x86.

However, technically that is a correct observation in any event, since PC actually stands for "Personal Computer", and the Mac has surely been a "personal computer" since 1984... :D

Long Version

that song is actually prettygood and pc has a decent voice. the long version is great.

This version rocks - clever, and well sung. Keep 'em coming....

Just reclaiming their territory.

I think Apple's starting to push it with these commercials. They're commercials should actually tell the viewer why Macs are better, instead of just bash Vista.

It's a conscious decision to 'Vista bash'. Why not go down that route? Everybody else says "My product's great" in their ads, and how many of those are memorable? Especially in the electronics sector.
The fact Windows crashes and freezes is a common perception and it's only building on what many people think anyway.

Okaaay. So disagreeing with you and saying you like the ad for what it is somehow lead to that bizarre rant.
All businesses care about nothing but $$$, otherwise they wouldn't be in business very long. You can't deny that Apple has been in great shape since 1998.

Check's in the mail

You act like Apple gives a **** about anything but your $$$! I've been using macs since the 90's and i've yet to receive a check in the mail. :(

Actually, many of us have received checks in the mail each year, amounting to hundreds of productive hours/year not having to [Ctrl+Alt+Del] several times a day, which amounts to more money earned, and projects going out on time.

I agree, not only money, but pure productivity. I have to waste a few hours of school work a week with freezes and CTRL+ALT+DEL on my toshiba, so anything mac would be a plus, not only in saving me time with my work, but allowing me to enjoy my time that i'm not fighting with my toshiba.

MORE problems on the mac

Ive newer had any problems with my pc, ive got 1 running on xp sp2 and moved on to vista, after my mac fan cousin told me that he switched to vista from mac. , i still use my mac thou :D for photoshop, but nothing else.. couse the pc beats the crap out of my mbp.. but still.. so when will mac straighen up there shitz again and make it stable... (Leopard)

these ADS are about mac not vista haha

Right, but Apple takes it to a level that I feel is dishonest. I've had zero notable problems with Vista. From that experience, I can't agree with these ads.

Although Vista slows down my workflow a little bit, I don't say I dislike it or moving back to XP.

It all depends on which programs you run, and how many at one time you have running. I've had plenty of drag running multiple apps on Vista, running on an HP Pavillion with
2 Quad processors at 2.5GHz and 4G RAM.

I don't dislike it either, it just feels cheap and lethargic running along side of Leopard.
