Big Country,

I'm in the same boat as you, but a little different.

I recently went back to iPhone after years of having android. Had the Note 20 Ultra and then went to the 13 Pro Max. Used it for almost 2 weeks and said, ahh I'll go back to android.

Big mistake.

Why?

Well, the android phones I used after the 13 Pro Max were the S22 Ultra, S21 FE and Oneplus 9 Pro.

To me, they either lacked the battery life, smoothness of iOS, speakers not as great, curved edges, which after the PM I couldn't stand anymore.

So I'll be going back to the 13 PM and staying. For me, it's just the total package. Plus most apps that are built for IOS definitely work better.

Crikey! I bet the S21 FE and OP9 Pro felt like a serious step backwards!

Even the S22 Ultra IMO is a poor relation to the Note 20 Ultra

As far as I know that's impossible. Many paid apps claim they can do it but I have not seen one that actually works.

Right now, the only official way is a one way street, from iphone to Samsung phone running Android 12. Whatsapp said they would allow bidirectional transfer, but so far it's just an empty promise. Really frustrating.
I used one of the sketchy wondershare apps (paid for it). Not saying I recommend it but if you are desperate it did work. (Migrating from android 11 pixel 3XL to iPhone 13 Pro Max).

Hopefully very soon WhatsApp makes this process work natively. Beyond ridiculous that they don’t make storage of chat history platform agnostic. That’s supposed to be the whole benefit of using WhatsApp instead of iMessage.

One thing the Apple Cult might not tell you is that you can turn your iPhone 13 Pro into one of the best Android phones on the market by replacing every core Apple application with the Google equivalent. You'll already be entrenched in the Google system, having had Android for so many years. The good news is that all their apps work just as well as, if not better than their Android counterparts.

What they really won't tell you is that you can also do the same with Microsoft apps as well and recreate Windows Phone on iOS.

You'd want to because of security, longer support windows, better selection of premium apps and games and, bear with me here, a complete lack of customisation. This is a strength because most Android users in the customisation scene that I have spoken to seem to spend all their time and effort getting their Samsung or Oppo to look just like a Google Pixel. They crave the AOSP default. On iOS you have this out of the box.

Hello everybody. I've been a long time Android (mainly Samsung) user and when looking for a phone to replace my S20 Plus I decided what the heck, see what all this Apple fuss is about :). I love electronics so it was intriguing to me to see how different iPhones are. I seriously considered the S22 Ultra and Pixel Pro 6 but figured I can always go back. So I picked up a 13 Pro Max in Sierra Blue a few weeks ago and am still learning the differences.

I'll wait a while longer before deciding which system I prefer but have already noticed some things I like, and some that I don't. Which is only natural. Below is a picture with my new Apple Black Cherry leather case I got for it today.

Welcome to the dark side! Once you get used to the iPhone "personality" you'll never go back.
